Blue Frosty Flake | By Seeka

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card featuring the Frosty Flake die set over a background made with Distress Paint.

I started with the background. I dropped several drops of Broken China Distress Paint onto a craft mat and then sprayed the drops with a few spritzes of clean clear water. Next, I dragged a 4.25″ x 5.5″ inch piece of heavy white cardstock through the drops, covering most of the panel with paint. While the paint and panel are wet, the diluted paint moves around to create a soft and cloudy effect. I let the panel dry a bit and then dabbed it again into the paint on the craft mat to create the more distinct droplets of color.

While the panel was drying, I used the Frosty Flake Layer die set to die cut two snowflakes. I die cut layer A from white cardstock twice and layer C from Tonic Craft Perfect Silky Sky Satin Effect Mirror cardstock twice; I skipped layer B. I adhered the layers of each snowflake together and then set them aside.

Next, I used the Simple Joy die to create the sentiment. I cut the detail layer from the same Silky Sky cardstock, and I cut the shadow layer from white cardstock. Then I adhered the two layers together.

To assemble the card, I adhered the two snowflakes to the background and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment. Finally, I adhered the card front to a card base.
