Sending Hugs Flora Plate & Adornment Peony | Natasha Vacca

Hi everyone! My name is Natasha and I am super excited to be on the Birch Press Designs blog today sharing my first card as a member of the Design Team! My card today features the new Flora Plate, Adornment Peony, as well as the Big Hugs Sugar Script Die, and Contempo Greetings! So let’s get started!

I first started with the gorgeous new Flora Plate Layer dies and wow these are so beautiful! I started with white card stock and die cut each layer of the Flora Plates, layer A, B, and C. Once all 3 layers were die cut, I glued each layer together using liquid glue. It is amazing to see how these come together and the beautiful details each layer has! Next I adhered the Flora Plate panel to an A2 card base and set this aside.

Next I used the Adornment Peony die set. I started with the base layer on both the Peony flower and the leaves. I die cut each of these using a pink and blue/green background from my stash. These backgrounds were made using powders. I then added metallic watercolor splatters to the leaves and flower in different shades of colors for added texture and dimension. Next I die cut the details using the peony and leaves dies included in the set. I die cut the detailed flower 3 times using white card stock, as well as the detailed leaves. I adhered these together using liquid glue and then adhered them to the flower and leaves.

Next I used the Big Hugs Sugar Script die set to add the sentiment. I die cut the shadow word Hugs using white card stock and then the inner layer using both white card stock and the same pink as the peony flower. I then adhered each of these layers together. I then stamped the sentiment – Thinking of You from the Contempo Greetings stamp/die set and embossed the sentiment using Gold embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment using the coordinating die. To complete the card I adhered the Adornment Peony on top of the Flora Plate card panel using both liquid glue and foam tape. I then adhered both sentiments!

I had so much fun creating today’s card! I had a lot of fun!
