    A Haunting | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, friends! Toni here with you today sharing my love of all things spooky!

I masked a moon on the card front and sponged around it with Catherine Pooler Something Borrowed, Suede Shoes, and Dress Blues.

I cut out the Littletown Spooky Manor and Wavy Hillside dies. I used white cardstock for most of it but used Memory Box Cilantro cardstock for the hills.

I really like the Wavy Hillside layers as you can easily adjust their position as needed to create the vertical height you want.

I used Catherine Pooler Grass Skirt and Deck the Halls for the hills. For the trees and house, I used Catherine Pooler Midnight along with Distress Oxide Weathered Wood and Mustard Seed. Of course, I spattered the lot with a tiny bit of water for that worn look I love.

For a full list of products used and to see my other projects, feel free to visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft.  Have a great rest of your week!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a wonderful rest of your week.

Late Summer Evenings | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you sharing a card the reminds me of warm summer evenings.

I cut the card base from Memory Box Fresh Aqua paper and sponged it with Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes and Something Borrowed. I spattered this with water and Copic Opaque White.

I next cut out Forest Canopy Layer C from Memory Box Cilantro Paper and sponged it with Catherine Pooler Eucalyptus.

For the Memory Box Evening Moths, I randomly sponged a piece of scrap cardstock with Catherine Pooler Tiara, Tiki Torch and Something Borrowed.

Lastly I foiled the Hello Sugar Script hot foil plated with Glimmer rainbow foil and cut it out with the coordinator word outline die. So pretty!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Autumn Thanks | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today after a bit of a hiatus. I’m glad to be back!

For today’s card I used a base of Memory Box Pool Party Solid Core Cardstock which I cut with the Pinpoint Contour Plate then sponged with Catherine Pooler All That Jazz, leaving the center alone to create a highlighted area.

Next I cut out the Adornment Oak Leaf twice from Memory Box Golden Wheat Solid Core Cardstock. This cardstock is amazing. It has two different shades on either side of the paper!

I sponged my leaves with Catherine Pooler Limoncello, Tiara and Tiki Torch inks, and spattered with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo and Crackling Campfire. If you look at the bottom Oak Leaf, I didn’t sponge the bottom left so you can see the two colors. I just flipped the paper over as to cut out the outline.

I added some Hillside Branch and Bramble Contour Layers cut from a dark kraft cardstock and Adornment Pumpkin curls out the Golden Wheat cardstock.

To finish the card I cut the Sugar Script Big Thanks from the reverse side of Pool Party as well as black cardstock to create a shadow.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Black Tie Holiday | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing an elegant and rather unexpected holiday card.

I used a variety of Neenah metallic shimmery papers to cut out the Splendid Poinsettia Contour Layers. So so pretty.

I used the same shimmer paper for the bottom layer of the Herbarium Plate with the second layer in an iridescent foil and black for the top.

I tucked a few Oval Leaf Branches in white for a pop of contrasting color. To finish the card I cut out Holiday Hugs in shimmer paper and layered that on top of a black layer for oomph.

Talk about a statement card. Modern. Elegant. Fabulous!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week! Happy holidays!

Holiday Kisses | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing another holiday card–my favorite!

As I was working with the Oval Leaf Branches dies for another card, I realized they reminded me of mistletoe so I ran with it.

I prepared the card base by cutting out the Epiphany Plate Layer A and adhering two of the three sections to it.

Then I cut out a few sprigs of the Oval Leaf Branches out of a pale green and sponged the darker parts with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn.

I cut out the Forest Leaf branch out of kraft cardstock but used the individual berries from Forest Canopy Layer A sponged in Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid. I topped off the mistletoe bundle with a peppermint twine bow.

I finished off the card using a Glad Tidings sentiment on a simple banner.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Sunset Sympathy | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a sympathy card although it could be used for any occasion really.

I sponged the card front with Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, and Prize Ribbon. I spattered the panel with water then set it aside to dry.

I cut out the Budding Twigs, Hillside Branch and Bramble, Jovial Blooms and Leaves, and Sprouting Crocus dies from black cardstock.

I adhered those onto the sponged panel which I had cut down and embossed with the Pinpoint Contour Plate.

I embossed the Classic Sentimental Wreath sentiment in white on vellum, tucking that around the front panel to hide the adhesive.

I’m so very pleased how this turned out. Sympathy cards are hard to make and I hope this one provides a little brightness.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Smooshed Ornament | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today with a holiday card featuring the Revello Ornament Layering Dies. I’m a huge fan of Birch Press ornament dies and was thrilled to work with this one.

This set is the 3 layering dies only. If you want a solid base for the ornament you can pair it with the Ornament Basics die set like I did or fussy cut one for yourself. Ornament hangers are also included or you can find a fancy scored one in the Radiant Ornament set.

The ink-smooshed panel was made using Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Cracked Pistaschio, and Peacock Feathers. I used two of the three layers (A and C) so that more of my smooshed panel would show.

I used a glitter cardstock from my stash for the bottom layer of the ornament as well as for the Merry Christmas letters. I then adhered the lot onto Epiphany Layer A mounted on the card base.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

  • Plaid Three Ways | by Toni M Maddox

Plaid Three Ways | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a trio of holiday cards with the same basic layout but totally unique looks.

The first card I made used a warm red-toned plaid from the Memory Box Christmas Plaid 6×6 pad. I cut that down to fit on a card base with a tiny margin around the edges then added the Glad Tidings sentiments on a rectangular diecut.

I used Distress Oxide Mowed Rustic Wilderness, Lumberjack Plaid and Aged Mahogany to color up the Jolly Holly diecuts. Super easy, right?

The next card was a surprise to me in that the Memory Box Christmas Plaid paper is double-sided and I had intended to use the other side when it occurred to me that the black and white checks would make a fabulous modern holiday card background.

I cut out the Jolly Holly from black and silver and added the red berries, again sponged in Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid and Aged Mahogany. I drew a black line beneath the sentiment to add to the modern feel.

My last card uses the reverse of the above black and white checks. Such a completely different look with the more traditional plaid and a swag using a few Oval Leaf Branches with the Jolly Holly diecuts.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Poinsettia Blues | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today with a glorious holiday card. Isn’t the Splendid Poinsettia die set absolutely stunning?!

It was so easy to create this detailed bloom using Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner with just a touch of Mustard Seed on the stamen. Gor-ge-ous!

For the card base I added a layer of double-sided tape then carefully positioned the Herbarium Plate Layer A on top. I then burnished Doodlebug Design Lily White Glitter into the openings with my finger. It’s messy to apply but the tape secures the glitter really well.

I glued down the poinsettia next (love it so much!), tucking in a few Oval Leaf Branches Contour Layer sprigs among the leaves.

I added the rather retro Holiday Hugs sentiment, opting to use only the outline so some of the glitter would show throught. You can’t have too much glitter!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Pumpkin Hugs | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today with another fall-inspired card. Yay, fall!

I used the Adornment Pumpkin dies as separate dies rather than using the outline die to create an impression. So clever to be have such a versatile die in the package, right?!

I sponged the Memory Box Cream Woodgrain cardstock with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina and Uncharted Mariner–love that “glow.”

On top of that I added the Enchantment Plate Layer A in a stone cardstock that I distressed with a sand eraser.

I love the softly colored Memory Box Vintage Pastel 6×6 Mirror cardstock I used for the pumpkin and sentiment. By the way, I added a bit of shading to the cardstock using my Copic airbrush with G17 and R32.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!
