Today, I’m excited to share a happy little bookmark that makes such a wonderful gift. This could be given alone as it is so easy to mail with a handmade card, or could be included with a gifted book.

This bookmark nestles into the book and leaves a butterfly delicately perched on the top (or side) of the pages. I used the Midnight Mandala stencil to create a pattern for the front.

When the bookmark is taken outside of the book, a colorful design opens up to a mini-booklet for writing notes on!

These gorgeous flowers come from the Cherry Blossom Wreath stamp set from Open Studio.

I’ve used just one of the Lovely Butterflies for this bookmark, but there are so many to choose from in this stamp set. I love all of these flowers and butterflies. They are so easy and fun to color, and all of these can be made in so many ways.

Make sure to check out the video I’ve made to show each step for making this fun bookmark, or check it out right here on the blog! Have a great day!

    Ring Tile Stencil Thanks
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day. Have you seen the new products in the store? I’m excited by all the wonderful designs…. dies, stamps and STENCILS!!!

Today I’m playing with the new Ring Tile Stencil. I love the large open areas and intricate design.

The most important part of working with stencils is making sure they stay in place while you ink so you can achieve well defined images. My secret weapon is Thermo Web Pixie Spray. It’s a light tack adhesive that is repositionable and won’t tear your paper.

I inked the stencil with a rainbow of Distress Inks using a cosmetic brush.

The panel was so pretty I couldn’t cover it up. I adhered a Thanks Honey Script sentiment layered over some black twine. A simple sentiment and a sprinkle of black enamel dots let the background take center stage.

I hope you’ll explore the world of stencils – they’re fun to work with and each is as unique as you!

    Finished Size 4.25 x 5.5″

You Are the Best | by Tracey McNeely

Hi there, it’s Tracey back today with an ink blended thank you card created with the new Bold Stripes stencil. I also have a process video to share how I created this bright and cheery card.

I placed the stencil over a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock and then blended a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks–Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, More Mustard, Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers. Once the stencil was removed I splattered some clean water onto the panel and lifted some of the colour with a paper towel.

The blended panel was trimmed down to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and then attached to the card base with foam tape for dimension. The large sentiment was cut from the new Honey Script Thanks dies. Thanks was cut from white cardstock for the base and black cardstock for the actual word. It was adhered to the card front with foam tape to make it really pop.

The second line of the sentiment is from the You Are Awesome stamp set. I stamped and white embossed the phrase ‘You are the Best’ on a thin strip of black cardstock that was adhered directly to the card front underneath the word thanks.

The black and white sentiments have a really big impact against the bright rainbow background!

Thanks so much for stopping in today and I hope that you mind is spinning with all the colour combinations that you could create with the Bold Stripes stencil.
