You Have My Hearts | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a trio of sparkly Valentines using the new Banner Heart Layering Dies and You Are Loved Hot Foil Plate & Die.

Let’s start with the last card I made which is my personal favorite. I love those pastels with the gold so so much!

But, I actually started with the black and red card below. As you can see from the layers, you end up with perfectly useable diecut negatives which I absolutely could not let go to waste so the next thing you know I’m using those bits for more cards.

The combinations of the glitter, mirror and regular cardstock are truly endless. Pair that up with using the hot foil negative and it just goes on and on.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and have a great rest of your week!

Sending Warm Wishes | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a kind of card that I like to send when I think my card might be late to reach the recipient for the holidays or just for winter wishes.

I sponged a panel with Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio then spattered that with water.

While that was drying, I cut out the Felicity Snowflakes and Aurora Snowflake Layering Dies out of white then sponged with Distress Oxide Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry.

I love the unexpected colors for a winter/holiday card. Just yum. Notice how I didn’t stack the Aurora Snowflake layers atop each other but instead offset them for kicks.

My final step was to emboss the Christmas Mandala sentiment in white.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Mistletoe Ornament | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a rather more traditional holiday card than my usual. Sometimes you just need to go classic and elegant!

I started the card by cutting the Meridian Ornament out of Memory Box Berry Red and Fresh Aqua 6×6 cardstock. I also cut out the Christmas Ornament Pop Up Easel elements from this.

Next I sponged Distress Oxide Aged Mahogany on the red cardstock and Faded Jeans on the blue to give depth and add a vintage touch. I also covered the bow in Lawn Fawn Glitter Pen (Wink of Stella would have worked well too).

For the Tiny Tuft Flowers & Leaves and Eucalyptus Stem & Berries Contour Layers, I used Memory Box Vintage Pastel Mirror, Lush Green, and Earth Neutral 6×6 cardstocks.

I adhered those to the card front which used a cream shimmer paper from my stash then nestled the ornament within.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Santa Baby | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a simple holiday card using the BPD Adornment Santa. Isn’t he super cute?!

I colored him up with Copic E00 and E11 and used a flocked red cardstock for his hat. Yes, I have flocked cardstock that’s been in my stash for years as I used it primarily at Christmas-time.

I used the BPD Herbarium Plate A as an impression plate on the card base. You know I love adding texture this way–subtle but adds a lot of interest.

I finished the card using the BPD Handwritten Merry Christmas & Outline. I was very pleased with how easy it was to line up the outline die with the stamped sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Slimline Snowflake Trio | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, everyone! Toni here with you today sharing a holiday card inspired by Scandinavian designs I’ve seen here and there.

I cut out the BPD Piped Icing Star from white and Memory Box Ocean Blue 6×6 cardstock. I cut the floral centers from scrap red cardstock and added white pigment pen dots.

I cut out a slimline card base from Memory Box Woodgrain Cardstock and mounted the stars on top.

I colored scrap cardstock using Copic R29 to match the star centers and cut the BPD Sugar Script Merry Christmas from it. I added a narrow strip to the bottom as well.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Tropical Sympathy | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a rather non-traditional mixed media sympathy card.

I cut out the leaves using the Memory Box Open Studio Tropical Leaves 3D Embossing Folder & Dies. Have you tried these before? Just amazing. Cutting the leaves out then embossing was super easy–look at these results!

I added a touch of color to them using Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Carved Pumpkin.

My entire idea for this card started with the Memory Box Open Studio Tropical Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. The leaf in the back reminded me of a feather so I used a gelli print I had pulled a few years ago (yes, years!) for which I had used Liquitex acrylic paints and a Feathers stencil by TCW.

I embossed the large BPD Kind Hearts sentiment using a Wow! Embossing Pad and Ranger Detail Fine White Embossing Powder.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Find Joy in Snow | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a (relatively) clean and simple holiday/winter card in pink and black. I love that color combination, don’t you?

I cut out the BPD Crochet Snowflake using the Memory Box Delicate Pastel Glitter and Vintage Pastel Mirror Pads along with white cardstock.

I adhered that to the card front which I had embossed using the Memory Box Open Studio Ringadings 5 3D Embossing Folder.

To finish the card, I added a few Memory Box Open Studio Autumn Jewels and the BPD Find Joy that I coated in clear Wink of Stella.

It would be really easy to mass produce this design, changing out the colors, for a series of unique cards.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Dove of Peace | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, Birch Press fans! Toni here with you today sharing a watercolored holiday card.

I started the card by cutting out a BPD Herbarium Plate layer out of white and mounting it on kraft.

The BPD Adornment Dove dies are a set of two, one that I used to cut the watercolored panel and the other for the white outline.

I cut the BPD Peace Honey Script outline in the same watercolored paper (check out that fab shimmer!) and mounted the word in white on top. Super easy and pretty card–my favorite type!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

Stylized Sunflower | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, everyone! Toni here with you today sharing a card using the Gilded Grace Hot Foil Plate and dies along with the stencil set.

The first thing I did was to use the Gilded Grace Outside Stencil Set with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, and Barn Door. On the last color, Barn Door, I also used Versamark with WOW! Primary Fuschia Fusion embossing powder.

I used Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed to color up the center medallion as well. It totally looks like a stylized sunflower, right?!

My last step was to hot foil the Sugar Script Sentiments 1 in magenta and pop it on top of the center. So pretty.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!

White on White for the Holidays | by Toni M Maddox

Hello, everyone! Toni here with you today sharing a white on white card for a throughly modern take on the classic wreath.

I cut out the Holly Wreath Plate Layer Set twice, adhering the resulting wreaths onto a woodgrain background.

I used Memory Box Open Studio Fairy Jewels as berries. These are self-adhesive but I used glue as well since I wasn’t adhering them to a solid surface.

I cut the BPD Find Joy out of black and mounted it on foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!
