    Hello, BP friends! Happy New Year and warm wishes from me, Sandhya. I decided to switch things up a little and made a slim long tag. The Cielo Snowflake Layer Set is my focal point. I used the Warm Wishes Vintage Sentiment die set as a sentiment.

    First, I die-cut 2 snowflakes out of white glitter cardstock using just Layer B of the Cielo Snowflake Layer Set. Next, I die cut the warm whishes sentiment out of left overs from the same white glitter cardstock.

    Then, I trimmed a slim long rectangle out of dark blue cardstock from my stash. I used a corner chomper to create rounded edges on one set of diagonal corners. Next, I added a generous splatter of white gouache. I punched a hole towards the top, added a white brad and added some shimmery white laces through it.

    Finally, I added my snowflakes and sentiment to complete my tag. This brings us to the end of today’s post. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have fun crafting today!

    Hello Birch Press Design fans and followers! This is design team member Crystal Komara here today with some non-traditional and rustic holiday inspiration using the Twinkle Ornament Layer Set.

    Now before we get to the card details, I know you’re going to first inquire about that background! So, in full disclosure, I recently attended a gelli plate class and this was one of the backgrounds I created from that class. I’m no expert and I couldn’t tell you all the professional gelli plate terms, but I’ll describe what we did as best I can.

    On the gelli plate we dropped acrylic inks in gold and amber and swirled it around the plate with a brayer. When it was almost dry, we took a patina blue paint and dotted it onto bubble wrap. Then we dipped the bubble wrap into the ink. Lastly, I took a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ sheet of mixed media cardstock and smooshed it into the gelli plate. Easy peasy, right? Just kidding. And you know with gelli plates even if I tried to recreate this background, it would never look exactly the same!

    Card details:

    The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. kraft cardstock. I added the dried gelli plate background directly to the card base.

    Using the Twinkle Ornament Layer Set, I die cut Layer C (the bottom layer) from a teal cardstock. Layer B from a gold glitter cardstock and Layer A (the top layer) from the same teal cardstock. I layered the three together using a fine tip liquid glue. Then I adhered the ornament to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.

    I die cut the ornament topper from gold glitter cardstock. I die cut the “merry” sentiment from the Handwritten Merry Christmas and Outline die. I die cut the top thinner layer from the same teal cardstock and the bottom outline layer from gold glitter cardstock. I decided to cut off the “Christmas” portion of the die, so it just reads “merry.” I adhered the sentiment to the card using foam adhesive.

    This card is SOooo far outside of my comfort zone, but I guess that’s why I like it. Sometimes taking a creative risk is worth it! Try it for yourself and you just might be surprised! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day.

    Hello, BP friends! Sandhya here and today I am sharing my Christmas Poinsettia card. I used the Splendid Poinsettia Contour Layers die set for my focal point. I used a sentiment from the Glad Tidings stamp set for my sentiment. So let’s get started!

    I started by spraying a few pieces of watercolor paper with Distress Spray Stain and Distress Mica Sprays in shades of red and green. To keep the layers distinct, I tried to keep one sheet a few shades darker than the other. Then, I die-cut the base layer out of the darker piece and the detailed layer out of the lighter piece.

    Next, I assembled the layers and built my layered poinsettia. I used all the layers interchangeably to get a more dense layered look. For the center, I added iridescent flatback drops in a tiny cluster. Next, I added gold details using gold foundry wax.

    Finally, I trimmed some textured watercolor cardstock with a deckled trimmer to create my panel. I stamped my sentiment in black and adhered the layered poinsettia to it. Then, I inked around a kraft card base and adhered the panel down to it in a slanting manner.

    Hello, friends! This is Sandhya and today I am sharing a winter-themed card. I used the Forest Canopy die set along with the Big Hugs Sugar Script die for my project. So let’s get started!

    I started by die-cutting the Forest Canopy – C layer and the hugs word out of watercolor paper multiple times. I stacked them and adhered the die-cut layers together. Next, I used an assortment of blue Distress Inks to create an ink-blended background on a watercolor panel.

    Then, I splattered some water on the inky panel to create the cool distressed effects that Distress inks lend themselves to. When I was happy with the look, I adhered the Forest canopy and my sentiment word over it.

    Next, I added glossy accents over the Hugs word and sprinkled Rock Candy distress glitter over it. I also added some glossy accents in the nooks and along some branches and added glitter there as well. It was hard to capture the pretty glittery effect in a photo, but it looks so pretty and captivating in real life.

    Hello, friends! This is Sandhya and I am here to inspire you with a layered and dimensional “Thanks” card. I used the Adornment Pumpkin die set as the focal point and added the Big Thanks Sugar Script die for my sentiment. The Honeycomb Bevel Plate Layering die set is my secret to building layers and dimension on this card.

    While I usually create ink-smooth panels and die cut into them, I did the opposite for the pumpkin. I started by die-cutting the pumpkin solid layer and the leaves out of watercolor paper. Next, I used an assortment of Distress Inks to create interesting smooshed inky layers on the pumpkin, stem and the leaves. I cut the delicate pumpkin outline layer out of glitter cardstock and adhered it over the solid layer.

    Then I die-cut some thick white cardstock with the HOneycomb Bevel Player Laters A and B. I adhered the layers together to form an anchoring layer under the pumpkin. I also die cut the sentiment out of thick watercolor cardstock.

    Next, I used Bundled Sage Distress Oxide to ink blend an ombre background on an A2 card base as well as the die-cut sentiment. Then came the fun part of assembling the card. I used generous amounts of foam tape to build the layers and embellished the card with a few enamel dots. It will cost a tad bit more to mail this card but it will look amazing sitting on the fireplace of a dear friend.

    Hello Birch Press Design readers, this is DT member Crystal Komara here to share a fun Halloween themed card with you. Hopefully it will remind you of candy corn, which are the colors that I was inspired to use on the pumpkin itself!

    Card details:

    The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of black cardstock that I ran through my Big Shot with the 3D Blooming Embossing folder from Memory Box Company (a sister company to BPD).

    Using the Adornment Pumpkin dies, I die cut both the outer shadow and inner intricate frame from white cardstock. Then I ink blended Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink onto the pumpkin. I splattered black acrylic paint all over the pumpkin to “grunge it up”.

    I die cut the pumpkin stem from brown cardstock and the two leaves from an olive green cardstock. I adhered the pumpkin to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I added the “boo” sentiment also with 3M foam adhesive.

    I love how this card turned out with a candy corn colored pumpkin! It’s fun for Halloween without being terrifyingly spooky! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day.

    Hello, my dear friends! Welcome back to another card post from me, Sandhya. For today’s card, I used the Aurora Snowflake Layering die set and the Merry Christmas Sugar Script die. I used some shimmery sprays to add to the magical appeal of my holiday card.

    I started by die-cutting all three layers of the Aurora Snowflake dies out of watercolor paper. Next, I picked out Bachelor Button Blue and Galactic Teal Starburst sprays from. Lindy’s Gang. I placed the Snowflake Layer B and a larger piece of watercolor cardstock on my craft mat and sprayed away. The trick to getting interesting layers is to alternate colors and dry the layers between spraying.

    I then trimmed the watercolor piece into a card panel measuring 3.75″x5″. Next, I die-cut the Merry Christmas work out of the remaining inked panel. For the outline, I used watercolor cardstock.

    Next, I adhered the 3 snowflake layers together and adhered it to the inked panel. I added the sentiment below that with some foam tape. I also added a few gems to the snowflake for more bling.

    Finally, I attached the completed panel to an A2 card base. I made the card base also with watercolor cardstock so it matches the white and texture on the sentiment outline. While it is hard to see the shimmer in the pictures, this card is a lot more shiny and attractive in real life.

    Hello Birch Press friends! This is Sandhya here with a fresh card to send warm wishes. It is kind of festive, more winter-like. I used the Forest Leaf and Berries Contour Layers and The Forest Canopy Layer C die sets for this card. For the sentiment, I grabbed the Warm Wishes Vintage Sentiment die.

    I started by die-cutting all the pieces from the Forest Leaf And Berries Die set out of watercolor paper. Next, I used Distress Spray Stains and Distress Mica stains to color the pieces. For the smaller pieces like the berries, it is easier to use tweezers and dip them into a buddle of color and then lay them out on a craft mat to dry.

    For the delicate branch, I used an ink blending tool and dabbed over it with Ground Expresso Distress Ink. Once all the colored pieces were dry, I assembled the berries and leaves per the instruction leaflet.

    Next I die-cut the Forect Canopy Laver C out of Watercolor cardstock 2 times. I adhered the 2 layers together to create more dimension and then adhered it down on a white A2 card base. Then, I die-cut my sentiment and placed it towards the entre of the background.

    Finally, I arranged the berry clusters and leaves around the sentiment and adhered them down with liquid adhesive. I also added a few flatback pearl embellishments to tie it all together. While it is hard to see the shimmer in the pictures, this card is a lot more shiny and attractive in real life.

    Hello Birch Press friends! This is Sandhya and I am back with a fall card featuring the Adornment Oak Leaf die set. It was a fun card with just die-cutting all the way and no stamping at all!

    I started by die-cutting the detailed layer of the oak leaf out of gold cardstock from the Memory Box Rainbow Reflection Mirror pad. Then, I used the Big Hugs Sugar Script die to cut out my sentiment from the same gold cardstock and set it aside. Next, I cut out the shadow layer of the leaf as well as the sentiment out of white cardstock.

    I used Distress inks in yellow and orange to ink blend an ombre effect on the solid layer of the leaf. Then, I adhered down the gold leaf over the ink-blended layer. Next, I trimmed a panel out of white cardstock to measure 3″x 5.25″ and die-cut it using the Pinpoint Radial Plate. For the card base, I chose a deep orange cardstock from my stash.

    Finally, I assembled the card using liquid adhesive and foam tape to pop up the sentiment die-cut. I also added a few flatback gold embellishments to tie it all together.     Hello Birch Press friends! This is Sandhya and I am super thrilled to be a part of the Birch Press design team and look forward to sharing my ideas and creations with all of you. I will start off with a couple of ‘thank you’ cards using the gorgeous new Adornment Wreath die set. It was fun playing with the delicate leaves as well as filling them up with leftover die-cuts.

    I started by trimming a piece of copper cardstock from the Memory box Glitzy Glitter Pad to a 4.25″x5.5″ panel. Then, I centered the detailed part of the Adornment Wreath die right in the middle of that panel and die-cut the wreath. I made sure to save the loose leaves that fell out of the die-cut wreath. Next, I used the Big Thanks Sugar Script die to cut out my sentiment from the same glitter panel and set it aside.

    Then, I trimmed a panel out of white cardstock to measure 4″x5.25″ and gently ink-blended around its edges with Antique linen Distress ink. I die-cut the wreath shadow layer out of white cardstock and ink blended over it with orange, yellow, and green inks and smaller-sized blending brushes.

    Now that I have all the bits and bobs ready, I assembled my card using glue and foam tape. First, I aligned the delicate glitter wreath over the ink-blended shadow and filled some of the gaps with solid leaf die-cuts. I didn’t add much glue towards the outer edges and gently lifted the glitter cardstock for added dimension. I adhered this down on the ink-blended panel and added the thanks sentiment using thin foam tape. Finally, I matted this panel with the glitter panel I used for diecutting and adhered it to an A2 card base.

    As I was creating this card, I had another idea to use the solid leaves to fill out the wreath a bit more. So I ended up creating another fun card to give this a try. For this card, I cut the wreath out of gold cardstock from the Memory Box Rainbow Reflection Mirror pad. I cut the solid shadow layer out of white cardstock and set them aside.

    Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Classic Sentimental Wreath stamp set on white cardstock and heat-embossed it in gold. I added a gold mat for my sentiment strip for added glam. Then, I went to play with a piece of watercolor paper and ink smooshing with Distress Oxide inks in fall colors – Crackling Campfire, Mustard Seed, and Mowed Lawn.

    I inked around the edges in orange and popped the watercolor panel on an A2 card base with foam tape. Next, I aligned the gold wreath imperfectly over the white solid layer and adhered it to the inky panel with foam tape. I went on to tuck the solid golden leaves to fill out the wreath. I just fell in love with this look and might just create this look in different colors now. Anyways, I went on to add the sentiment strip and finish this card.
