Hello! Christina here to share an elegant ivory and gold Christmas card featuring the Dancing Deer die set. I paired this handsome deer with the Merry Christmas Serif sentiment and created a snowy monochromatic background using die-cuts, one of my favorite ways to add texture without distracting from the focal point. Let’s take a closer look at how this card came together.
Background Panel
Starting with a 4.25 x 5.5-inch piece of ivory cardstock, I die-cut a large oval from the top-center of the panel, giving me the oval and the outer frame piece. I set the oval aside and then die-cut the Bright Snowflakes a couple of times also from ivory cardstock, which gave me many different snowflakes in a variety of sizes. I attached the snowflakes with a liquid adhesive to the outer frame piece, letting them overhang the edges and the center oval area, and then trimmed them off after the glue dried. Next, I used a metallic gold ink pad to highlight the texture of the added snowflake die-cuts by lightly brushing over the tops of them. Finally, I splattered this outer frame piece with gold splatter medium before attaching it to a card base along with the center oval piece.

Die-Cut Elements
With the background panel completed, I moved on to die-cutting the components for the deer. For the elegant style I wanted, I chose a matte metallic gold and a gold glitter cardstock for the deer. Metallic cardstock is usually a lighter weight, so I stacked the gold die-cuts with another plain white die-cut underneath to give the pieces more stability before assembling. I used thin foam squares to attach his other set of legs for a little added dimension and liquid adhesive for the other pieces. Finally, I used the gold glitter cardstock to die-cut another set of Bright Snowflakes to use as embellishment.

Sentiment
The sentiment is two die-cut pieces: the text and the shadow piece. I chose ivory for the shadow piece so it would disappear (mostly) against the background and matte gold for the text.

Card Assembly
With the background panel already attached to a card base, I centered the deer on the oval and secured him with foam squares. I arranged the glitter snowflakes around him, securing them with a liquid adhesive, and trimming anything that overhung the edges. Finally, I attached the sentiment along the bottom of the card front.
Thank you so much for reading about the elegant Christmas card I created featuring the Dancing Deer die set. See you again soon.
