A Block Print Birthday Card
by Nora Noll

Hello Crafty Friends!! Nora here on the blog with a block print card inspired by Pinterest.

I don’t know about you but I love to browse Pinterest when I need some creative inspiration. One topic I love to flip through is patterns. I often am inspired by the colors or the fun way that botanicals are used in various impressions. I wanted to use the Fall Leaves (57698) dies to make a Birthday Card. The colors and block design in the card I created for today’s post is inspired by one of those patterns.

I started off using the Fall Leaves dies to cut leaves from various colors of cardstock scraps. Some of the leaves I cut from two different colors of paper. I then cut one of the leaves apart and adhered it on top of another.

Next I cut pieces into blocks using the same colors of cardstock that I cut the leaves from. I paired each block with a specific leaf, making sure that it fit on top. On some of the blocks, I added paper strips and others I just left plain.

I adhered my leaves over the squares. I then took some time to arrange the blocks so that they were pleasing to my eye. I think this was what took the longest out of all my steps.

I glued the blocks to a white piece of 4” by 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock. I then adhered the card front to an A2, top folding, navy card base.

To complete my card, I used the Elegant Birthday Sentiment (8166) clear stamps to stamp one of the sentiments in navy blue underneath the leaves arrangement. I had fun using the Fall Leaves in such an unusual way.

I hope that my card inspires you to look at the dies you have and use them in a different way. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!
