Stitched Stripe Kinsley Heart Layer Dies | By Leigh Houston

Oh, how I love a stitched stripe! This is my current favorite technique for adding some super easy, super simple stitching and a modern touch to a die cut card. It paired so beautifully with Birch Press Designs’s Kinsley Heart Layer Dies, and I’m excited to walk you through this fun technique!

I started my card by die cutting strips of red and pink cardstock in varying widths. I found the center of my card panel and adhered the first strip down the middle using liquid adhesive. I then used a paper piercer, poked holes along the sides of this strip, and added simple backstitching through these holes in shades of pink thread. I then adhered two more strips along the edges of this center strip, again poking holes down the sides and adding stitching. I kept on adding layers of strips and stitching until I achieved the width I was after. So easy!

I then assembled my Kinsley Layer Heart. I die cut my layers from pink, red and white cardstock and adhered them together using liquid adhesive. I then die cut my sentiment from the Hello Sugar Script die four times, layering them together to create dimension. After adhering it to the center of my heart, I added some crystal glaze for some shine. After that, I simply adhered the heart to the center of my cardstock strips and this card was finished!

I am such a huge fan of how stitching adds such a unique touch to handmade cards, and this technique is such a fast and pretty way to add this special accent. I hope you enjoyed this project, and I’ll see you again soon with another project from Birch Press Designs!
