Welcome, crafty friends! Dee here today, sharing this fun and vibrant holiday card featuring the beautiful new Crochet Snowflake layer dies!
To begin, I cut the Crochet Snowflake layers A and B twice, once in white and once in silver glitter cardstock, and adhered them together.
Next, I sprayed white heavyweight cardstock with acrylic spray paint in vibrant multi-colors. Once dry, I die-cut the center with the Crochet Snowflake layer C. I adhered the panel onto a piece of white card stock and adhered the white and silver glitter layers on top of all. To finish, I added a sentiment strip from my stash and mounted the panel onto a top-folding card base.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to create something new! Thank you so much for joining me.
Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I have a sunny and bright holiday card featuring the Snowy Circle Layer Set.
I started off by die cutting the three layers of the Snowy Circle set in two shades of aqua and a metallic silver. Some great cardstock options are in the Fresh Aqua and the Vintage Pastel Mirror 6×6 paper pads from Memory Box.
I glued the layers together and added some small silver bubble embellishments to the centers of the snowflakes.
Next, I created an 3″ x 4.25″ ink-blended panel using Picked Raspberry, Saltwater Taffy, and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks.
To assemble the card, I glued the ink-blended panel to the center of an A2 card base and then glued the Snowy Circle onto the card front. To finish, I used foam tape to adhere a small holiday sentiment from my stash.
Hello crafty friends! I am excited to be back up on the Birch Press blog with you today! In today’s post I am going to share how I used several of the new holiday products to create Holiday gift tags! So let’s get started!
For today’s tags I am using 2 of the snowflake dies: Adornment Snowflake and Felicity Snowflakes. I started by die cutting each of these sets using white card stock and a blue from the Stormy Blue Collection ( Memory Box Paper Pad). I started with a lighter blue from the Stormy Blue collection for the base layer of each of the snowflakes. I then die cut the inner snowflake die using white card stock, as well as a darker shade of blue. Once everything was die cut, I adhered the inner layers of each snowflake together. For some I left white on the top, others were blue on top.
Next I embossed each of the inner snowflakes. I used a blue and a gold embossing powder. Once these were heat set, I adhered the embossed snowflakes to the shadow layer of each set (Adornment Snowflake and Felicity Snowflakes).
Next I created a watercolor background using mixed media paper, Lindy’s Magicals, as well as sprays. Once my backgrounds were dry, I die cut them into tags. Next I splattered the tags with both white and gold paint. I allowed these to dry. Once they were dry, I distressed the edges with a distress ink and then added embossing glaze to a few areas of the tags.
Once my tags and snowflakes were complete I chose 2 sentiments, both are from the latest Birch Press Designs release. For the larger tag, I die cut the Handwritten Merry Christmas and Outline sentiment. For the shadow layer, I die cut this using vellum. For the script I die cut it two times using white card stock, then a 3rd time using the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad collection. I adhered the layers together using liquid glue. For the smaller tag, I used the beautiful Find Joy and Outline die set. I followed the same process as the previous sentiment. To complete the tags, I adhered the snowflakes and sentiments to the tag base and added twine from my stash. I added a few Fairy Drops as well to complete by tags.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed these! I will see you soon!
What’s great about working with monochrome colors is that if blue isn’t your color, try recreating it in red, or purple or green. The options are endless!
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. I cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of the same white cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot using the Blooming 3D embossing folder from Memory Box. This embossed cardstock is the first layer of the card. I then used alternating pieces of cardstock from the 6″ x 6″ Ocean Blue paper pack. These strips measure 5 1/2″ x 1/4″. I used the same color cardstock to create the three layer Floral Star. I also added in a piece of glitter cardstock from the Twinkling Jewel Paper pack. I die cut Layer B from this glitter cardstock. I adhered all three layers of the Floral Star layering dies together with liquid glue.
I took a chance and cut the finished Floral Star in half hoping to make it the focal point of the card. I stamped “hello” in turquoise ink on a thin white strip of cardstock and placed it between the two halves of the Floral Star. I think it pulled the two halves together more cohesively.
I really like how this card came out, in fact, I think I’ll try it in a few other colors too!
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
Happy Saturday! Birch Press recently had an amazing release of a lot of Christmas goodies, and I am so excited to be sharing a card using just a few of the new supplies with you today.
I created a card using the new Meridian Ornament layering set. As with all Birch Press supplies, this layering set is beautifully detailed.
I started by cutting out layers A, B and C with three different cardstocks. Layers A and C use cardstocks from the new Glitzy Glitter Pad, and the gold layer B uses a piece from the Rainbow Reflections Mirror Pad.
Next, I took another new goody — the Herbarium Plate layering set and used only Layer A (the top layer) to dry emboss onto white cardstock. I wanted to make an impression, not cut, the entire layer. I cut 1/4″ off each side to create a nice border.
I used my Tim Holtz poky tool to poke holes into the top and bottom of the ornament and threaded gold thread through each hole. I tucked the thread behind the dry embossed panel and secured it with tape on the back.
I put the entire panel onto an A2 sized cardstock, and then used yet another new goody — the Merry Christmas Sugar Script, to die cut the sentiment.
For the sentiment, I die cut the shadow from vellum, and die cut the words twice from white cardstock and then layered them together.
Lasty, you know I needed some bling, so I used the Christmas Fairy Crystals self-adhesive jewel set to add red and clear crystals across the card. That is it!
Honestly, I am just getting started with making Christmas cards with this newest release — and it is AMAZING!!
I hope this has inspired you to go craft and I can’t wait to come back with more crafty goodness.
Hello, Birch Press Friends! I am thrilled to be back with you today sharing a few of Birch Press Design’s new products. Are you ready for some sparkle and shine?
I started with the gorgeous Gilded Grace Hot Foil Plate set. There are actually two plates in this set, along with a die that cuts the bigger circle. I foiled both plates onto smooth white card stock with gold foil using my hot foil machine. The results, even before coloring, are just gorgeous! But, there are matching stencil sets that help you color the design. There is one set of stencils for the “outside” design (what you see in blue and green on my card) and another set of stencils for the “inside” design (what you see in yellow and pink on my card). These stencils line up with the two different hot plates that come in the set. I used both for my card.
I started by planning which colors would go where. I wanted a rainbow design, so working my way out, I determined that green and blue would be the “outside” colors. So, I used that stencil set to color the main panel. I did have to be a little careful towards the bottom when I was working on the two different colors, but it was fairly easy to keep them separate by using small blending brushes. I used three different shades of each color, as there are three layering stencils in each set.
Before coloring the “inside” colors on the panel that I foiled the big circle on, I used a circle die to cut out the inner circle (where you see pink on my card). This made it easier to keep the pinks and yellows separate while ink blending. When I was finished ink blending the yellow piece, I also cut that out with a circle die. I was then able to give dimension to both of these circles by stacking additional circle dies behind them before glueing them onto the main panel. I just love the results of adding that dimension!
I used some pink paper from the Vintage Pastel Mirror Pad to gold heat emboss the sentiment, which comes from the Rainbow Days Lingo Notes stamp set. I then cut it out with a small circle die and glued it to the center of the pink blended design. I finished the card by adding some fairy jewels in matching colors to tiny circles in the foiled design.
Thank you so much for joining us today. I hope this card inspires you and brings a smile to your face!
Hello friends! I am excited to be back on the blog today to share a sparkly Merry Christmas design with you! Today’s card uses several new products from Birch Press Designs latest release! I had a lot of fun, so let’s get started!
I started with a pre-made background for today’s card. I liked the subtle layer of pink and was excited to pair this with blues, white, and lots of sparkle! I started by die cutting the Meridian Ornament Layers set using white card stock, as well as the Festive Glitter paper pad set. I cut layer A and C using white card stock, then layer B was die cut using the Festive Glitter pad. Once these were die cut, I adhered these together using liquid glue. For the ornament topper, I used the Christmas Ornament Pop Up Easel die set. I die cut the topper with white card stock, then added sparkle using embossing powder. I adhered this to the top, then set the ornament aside.
Next I knew I wanted to create a bit of dimension behind my ornament for added texture and interest. I used 2 die sets, Eucalyptus Stems and Berries Contour Layers and Fuddled Leaf Branches Contour Layers. I die cut several of each of these using the Stormy Blue paper pad from Memory Box. Once they were die cut, I added a bit of oxide ink to the fuddled leaves, as well as some embossing powder for added texture. On the berries I die cut an extra set of the berries and added embossing powder as well. I then adhered the top layer of the berries onto the stems.
Next I die cut a few snowflakes using the Felicity Snowflakes die set using the Festive Glitter pad. I used the same color of glitter card stock as I used in my ornament. I then die cut my sentiment using the Handwritten Merry Christmas die set. I die cut the shadow layer using vellum and then the Handwritten sentiment using 2 paper pads: Vintage pastel Mirror Pad and the Festive Glitter Pad. I adhered these together using liquid glue.
Next I trimmed down my pink background panel and added a bit of embossing powder to the edges. I then added a bit of ink to darken the edges a bit to add a vintage look. I then prepared all my die cuts by adding foam tape for added dimension. I then adhered these down to my card panel using a combination of adhesive (liquid glue and foam tape). I added my sentiment to the ornament to complete my card!
I had so much fun creating today’s sparkly Christmas card! Be sure to check out the amazing new holiday items! I know you will love them! I will be back soon with more inspiration!
Hello, everyone! Toni here with you today sharing a card using my beloved blue and red combo, this time for a holiday card.
I cut out the two bottom layers of the BPD Herbarium Plate Layer Set out of Memory Box Fresh Aqua 6×6 cardstock and the top layer out of white. I mounted this on a dark aqua base.
I love the faux shading the layers and paper create. Did you notice the shade lines as well? Brilliant!
I used a Copic to color the berries red and added “Joy” cut from the BPD Mod Alphabet die set.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!
Hello friends! This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today sharing my passion for the color purple! I used the Wispy Blooms Contour Layering Dies to create these two monochromatic cards, however, you could re-create them in any color imaginable and have a rainbow assortment to choose from.
For this first card, I used a piece of 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock as the base of my card. I also cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of the same white cardstock for the first layer. I ran this sheet of cardstock though my Big Shot using the Blooming 3D embossing folder (from Memory Box). I die cut one large white oval circle and adhered it to the center of the card.
Using the Wispy Blooms Contour Layering dies, I cut multiple flowers from three different purple colors of cardstock in the 6″ x 6″ Twilight paper pack. I die cut the stems from two shades of green cardstock found in the 6″ x 6″ Lush Green paper pack. I adhered all the flowers together with a fine-tip liquid glue. I adhered the flowers to the center of the scalloped circle to create one giant bouquet. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment “thinking of you” in purple ink on a thin strip of white cardstock. This sentiment is from the Classic Sentimental Wreath stamp set.
Because I had so many flowers leftover, I decided to create a second card using them, rather than waste them:
The base of this A2 sized card is also made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I embossed a 5 1/4″ x 3″ piece of the same white cardstock using the Blooming 3D embossing folder (from Memory Box) and used a 5 1/4″ x 2″ piece of purple plaid paper for the other side. This paper is from the Spring Plaid slim paper from Memory Box. I die cut a large scalloped oval from Twilight cardstock and a smaller white oval for the center. I stamped the sentiment “hoping today is as wonderful as you are” in purple ink on the white oval. This sentiment is from the Kind Hearts clear stamp set. I adhered some of the leftover flowers into this white oval frame. I found that more than three flowers was too much, so I limited it to just the three.
I hope you have enjoyed these cards! Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
