Hello and welcome friends! Dilay here with you today to share a clean and simple leafy butterfly wreath card featuring the latest Pinpoint Contour Plate and You Are Loved Noted Script foil sentiment.
To begin, I die cut two pieces of white card stock with the Pinpoint Contour Plate, then die cut one of them once more with the Mandala Card Frame die.
Next, I selected a few colors of scrap card stock, die-cut each with the Tingly Tuft Flowers and Leaves Contour Layers, and adhered them behind the open circle, creating a simple rainbow wreath.
I then adhered to the completed wreath panel over top of the solid Pinpoint Contour Plate die cut.
I die-cut gold foil and glitter butterflies using the Simple Butterfly Contour Layers then adhered them over top of the leaves with foam tape. To finish, I gold foiled and die cut you are loved’ and adhered it to the center of the wreath.

Hello Birch Press Friends! I am excited to be up on the blog today sharing the gorgeous Eloquent Butterfly layering die set! I absolutely love this set and decided to use this set today with a mixed media vibe! I hope you enjoy it, let’s get started!
I started with the beautiful Eloquent Butterfly layering die set. I die cut all 3 layers. First I die cut layer C using white card stock, layer B using white and an inked background from my stash, and then layer A using an inked background from my stash. The inked backgrounds were made using sprays. Once all the layers were die cut, I added dye ink to layer B and layer A. I feel this adds a bit more texture and definition to the layer. On layer A I also added a bit of embossing glaze for added texture. I then adhered all layers together and added foam tape. I then die cut the antennae for the butterfly from the Butterfly Basics die set using a piece of card stock from the Vintage Pastel Mirror pad and adhered this with liquid glue to the butterfly.
Next I chose a gelli print from my stash and embossed the panel using the Flora Plate die set. I used Layer C from the set and followed the instructions in my die cutting machine to emboss the panel onto my gelli print. Next I distressed the edges of the panel using a paper trimmer, distress tool, and then inked up the edges with distress ink.
I then added a bit more texture to the panel using metallic paint by adding splatters with my paintbrush. Next I added a bit more distress ink to the raised areas of my background panel using a blending tool.
To complete my card I adhered the panel to an A2 card base. Next I added two strips of paper, one from an old book and another piece of gelli print. Both pieces were distressed using a combination of distress inks and embossing glaze. I added the Hugs Honey Script sentiment to my card. I die cut the shadow layer using white card stock and ink blended the shadow with distress oxide. I die cut the hugs sentiment 3 times using kraft card stock and adhered them together with liquid glue. I then ink blended the sentiment with distress inks. I added a sub sentiment from my stash. Both sentiments were adhered using liquid glue.

Hello, Birch Press friends! January is always a great time to take stock of what cards you have in your stash. I always seem to have a shortage of birthday cards, so now is a great time to start building up that stash. My card today features the “Make a Wish Sugar Script” die set.
The inspiration for this card started with a panel of watercolor paper that I had inked up with some shimmer powders. I wasn’t happy with how it was turning out, and I almost threw it away. But, as I was picking it up, I saw that some of the color had gotten onto the back of the panel. And that is what became the background for this card. That is what I call a happy accident! I used the new Pinpoint Contour Plate to give it a little bit more texture and adhered it to an A2 card base.
For the main focal point of the card, I cut the detail words out of a champagne pearl card stock. I cut the shadow pieces out of the same watercolor paper that I had used for the background. I stacked the shadow pieces three times and the detail pieces two times in order to create dimension. I stamped the sub-sentiment on the same watercolor paper and heat embossed it with a platinum color embossing powder. The sentiment comes from the Happy Lingo stamp set.
To add more visual interest and movement, I die cut some small dragonflies and a butterfly using the same combination of papers that were already on the card – plain watercolor paper for the base layer of the wings, shimmer powder background remnants for the top layer of the wings, and champagne pearl card stock for the bodies. I glued these together only at the centers, so that the wings could pop up and create dimension.
To finish the card, I added some Fairy Jewels and Fairy Crystals in complementary colors.

Hello, Birch Press Friends! I have been loving glossy black card stock so much lately, and I thought it would be great for a butterfly. So today I am sharing this card featuring the Glimmer Butterfly Layer Set.
I started by making the butterfly. I used yellow card stock for the bottom layer, pink card stock for the middle layer, and the glossy black card stock for the top layer. I adhered the layers together with liquid glue. I added some clear fairy jewels as an embellishment.
For my background, I used Layer A from the Epiphany Plate Layer Set. I die cut it from white card stock and adhered the main outside layer to a white A2 card base. I also adhered the inner ring to the card base. I kept the small center piece to use at a later time. I never throw pieces out! I added some clear fairy jewels around the ring to accentuate the circle.
I white heat embossed the sentiment onto black card stock and then cut it out with the matching die. I also used the die to cut two layers of white card stock and adhered those to the back of the sentiment for dimension.

Hello Birch Press Design readers! This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today sharing a slimline card made using the Butterfly Basics die set. I have owned this beautiful die set for a while and for as much as I love butterflies, I can’t believe I hadn’t used it yet! So, while there is a whole new gorgeous release of products (to include foils!) from Birch Press Design, today I’m going back to the (butterfly) basics.
Card details:
The base of this slimline card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. This slimline card measures 8 1/2′ x 3 1/2′ and will fit inside a regular #10 business sized envelope and, as such, requires no additional postage. I used a slimline die to create the first matted background.
Using the Butterfly Basics die, I cut the large open base frame from solid cardstock. I used four primary colors (pink, blue, yellow and green). I used the following pads of cardstock:
I adhered the butterfly basic together with LineCo ph neutral bookbinding glue. This is my favorite liquid adhesive and it works well when holding glitter cardstock to other paper. I die cut the butterfly bodies from black cardstock. After adhering all the individual butterflies together, I adhered them to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.
I really like the bold and bright colors of these butterflies. Due to their slightly larger dimension size, I felt like putting them on a slimline card would showcase more colors. I hope you like today’s fun card! Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
Hello, Everyone! Look who has hot foil plates now! We are very excited to be able to show off these gorgeous plates and how hot foiling can complement the rest of the beautiful Birch Press Design products.
Not only are there sugar script hot plates, but one of my favorite background dies is now available as a hot foil plate, too. And that is what I started this card with. I took a piece of smooth white card stock and hot foiled the String Art Frame plate with copper foil. This foil looks gold in the pictures, but that’s the wonderful thing about foil – it changes color and luminosity as the light hits it. The hot foiled image came out crisp and beautiful on the first try, so I set that aside.
Next, I foiled the hugs hot foil plate with the same copper foil onto the same white card stock. I cut it out with the matching die that comes with the plate. It came out gorgeous! The hugs sugar script die has always been one of the most used sentiments in my stash, and I know that this hugs hot foil plate will get just as much use.
To ground my sentiment in the center of the string art frame, I cut two circles from yellow and orange card stock. On the smaller yellow circle, I stamped a partial sentiment from the Kind Hearts stamp set. The full sentiment is “Sending you sunshine, laughter & hugs.” In order to stamp just the “Sending you,” I masked off the rest of the stamp with washi tape, inked the stamp with VersaMark ink, removed the washi tape, and then stamped it onto the yellow circle. I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I assembled the two circles together, glued the hugs sentiment below the stamped sentiment, and adhered it onto my foiled panel. I then adhered the panel onto a hot pink A2 card base.
To embellish the card, I die cut three butterflies using the Simple Butterfly Contour Layers die set. I cut the larger layers from vellum and the top layers from white card stock. The bodies of the butterflies were actually cut from the same copper hot foil that I used on the rest of the card. If you have a solid hot foil plate in your stash, you can easily create solid foiled pieces of card stock. As a final embellishment, I added colorful fairy jewels to the butterfly bodies.
In this last photo, you can see the copper color of that foil. Again, it just depends on the lighting – the foil gives the card such a dynamic feel. Happy Friday, crafty friends! Dee here today sharing a fun and vibrant card featuring the brand new Simple Butterfly Contour Layers dies!
I began with a piece of watercolor paper and applied a few of my favorite colors using watercolor brush markers. Once dry, I die cut each of the butterflies multiple times (and the antennas in gold) and adhered them together.
Next, I die cut layer B of the Flora Plate Layer Set and adhered it onto an A2-sized white card base, then adhered each of the butterflies onto the card panel.
I cut the Big Sugar Script Hugs die in gold and the shadow in white and adhered it to the bottom corner. I used a sub-sentiment from my stash and adhered it above the ‘hugs’, and since I had one little butterfly left, I decided to add that on top!
Hello crafty readers! This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today. Today I’m sharing two cards made using my favorite spring themed die from Birch Press Design called the Petal Egg Layer Set. There are just so many color combinations that could be used to create the perfect Easter card using these beautiful layering dies.
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using Layer Plate C of the Butterfly Garden Layering Plate, I die cut the first layer from white cardstock. I saved some of the extra butterflies off to the side (to use as added 3D pieces at the end). Using the Petal Egg Layering Set, I die cut Layer B from purple glitter cardstock (from the Twinkling Jewel 6 x 6″ glitter pad) and Layer A from white cardstock. I created a background using blue and purple alcohol inks on Yupo paper. Once this dried, I fussy cut the shape of the egg to fit it behind the egg as the third or base layer.
I stamped the sentiment “thinking of you” from the Contempo Greetings stamp set in Versamark ink on a piece of purple Vibrant Violet cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and then used the coordinating Contempo Greetings die to die cut it out. I adhered the greeting to the front of the egg using 3M foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a couple white butterflies (from the background) to add more texture.
I created a second card using the same instructions (as above), but I simply changed out the background mat to a purple cardstock from the Vibrant Violet paper pack.

Hello, Everyone! Today, I am sharing more inspiration from the new Floral Contour Layers release. I made a mini slimline card featuring two of the new die sets – the Simple Butterfly Contour Layers and the Tiny Tuft Flowers and Leaves Contour Layers.
I started by creating a white card base that measures 3.5″ x 6.25″. I used the leaves die from the Tiny Tuft Flowers and Leaves Contour Layers set to cut a bunch of leaves from the same white card stock. I then arranged these leaves on my card base and adhered them with liquid glue. I love the texture that these leaves give – it’s almost like creating your own background die.
Next, I started die cutting my butterflies. I chose to stick to a warm palette, so I used different shades of yellow, pink and orange card stock. I adhered the smaller parts of the butterflies to the larger parts, making sure to only put glue in the center, so that the sides could lift up for dimension.
The small, delicate bodies of each butterfly were the same color as the rest of the butterfly, but I wanted them all to be gold. So, rather than use the dies to cut more bodies out of gold card stock, I just used the bodies that I had. I took a piece of Post-it tape (washi tape would also work) and taped the very ends of it to a piece of paper so that the adhesive side of the tape was facing out. I then put all of the butterfly bodies onto the adhesive, inked them up with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. Once embossed, I was able to just pull the bodies off of the Post-it tape and glue them onto the butterflies. This was the easiest way for me to emboss all of those delicate die cuts.
I arranged all of my butterflies onto the card base and then glued them down when I was happy with the placement. Again, I only applied glue in the very centers so that the butterfly wings could lift up and look dimensional. For the sentiment, I used the Handwritten Hugs die and some gold foil card stock. To give it dimension, I stacked the gold Hugs onto two more layers that I had cut out of white card stock. After adhering that to my card, I finished by scattering some tiny Fairy Jewels around the butterflies in coordinating colors.

Hi friends and welcome back! Dee here today sharing a card featuring the Viola and Eloquent layered dies that I combined with a simple ink blending combo for pops of color!
To begin, I first cut the Viola Plate dies (layers a, b, and c) in white, then stacked and adhered them together. Next, I watered colored two A2-panels in yellow, To begin, I cut the Viola dies (layers a, b, and c) in white, then stacked and adhered them together.
Next, I watered-colored two A2-panels in yellow, orange, and pink, adhering one panel behind the Viola layers and die cutting the other panel with layer a of the Eloquent butterfly set. I then die cut layers b and c of the Eloquent set in gold and white, then adhered the three layers together.
I then die cut layer b and c of the Eloquent set in gold and white then adhered the three layers together. To finish the butterfly, I die cut the body of the butterfly from the Butterfly Basics set in gold and adhered it to the center.
Once the layers were complete, I adhered the butterfly to the front with foam adhesive. To finish, I die cut the sentiment from the Handwritten Hugs in gold, added gold embellishments, and mounted the panel onto an A2-sized card base.
