    Birthday Adornment Poppy
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great day! Have you seen the new release in the store? I’m smitten with the new Adornment Poppy!

Today I’m sending you some sunshine with this bright floral birthday card that looks fussy but was so easy to make!

I started with the NEW Flora plate cut in ombre yellow orange cardstock and adhered them together. I use a large acrylic block to hold them in place as the glue sets. This set is so pretty I wanted to show you each of the plates. I think the individual layers – particularly the Layer C make beautiful stand alone dies.

Next I assembled the poppy and lots of leaves in different shades of green. This set includes BOTH a detailed die as well as a background die for the leaves and flower.

I used the Contempo Greetings set to create the Happy Birthday Sentiment. I think this set is clever because the dies matches the Contempo Christmas set.

I adhered the pretty floral with adhesive foam tape. Raising the flower allowed me to tuck the leaves under the flower and add dimension.

Of course I didn’t want to cover that pretty background so a simple (and small) sentiment seemed best. A few Memory Box Fairy Drops add a little shine like dew drops.

I hope this card makes you smile and that you have a fantastic day!

Field of Blooms | by Jeanne Jachna

Thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing a simple card made with the Field of Blooms layered die set.

This card is simple to make by cutting three dies and stacking and adhering them together. The simplicity of the design means you can make lots of cards quickly for different occasions.

The top layer is simple white card stock, the next two layers are orange and violet. The two colored layers create the tulip colors. When you adhere it to a green panel – like magic – the leaves become visible. I used cardstock from Memory Box – it’s the perfect weight and there are so many colors to choose from!

You won’t want to cover your beautiful panel once it’s assembled so a simple sentiment is best. I added a strip of vellum to soften the colors and make the Lingo Thanks sentiment more visible.

If you look close you’ll see that the panel has a debossed pattern on it too! I love the clean lines and easy way the layered designs come together.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!
    by Jeanne Jachna

I hope you’re having a great Valentine’s Day whether it’s time with friends or date night with your sweetie everybody needs a little love.

I love the layered dies offered by Birch Press Design. The designs are elegant and the option of making the designs in different color schemes is endless.

I admit sometimes it’s hard to find ombre shades of cardstock in the same color family. That’s why I’m happy to share that our parent company Memory Box just released ombre paper pads perfect for layering.

I cut the Kinsley top layer from white cardstock and the remaining layers from the Berry Red 6×6″ pad. The pads are white core so you can tear them, and it really streamlines the process of finding the perfect papers.

I hope you’ll check out the new paper pads! I know you’ll find one in your favorite color!

  • String Art Nativity Star by Jeanne Jachna

    String Art Nativity Star
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi and thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing a glittery card made with the String Art Nativity Star background die. It’s got me singing “Star of Wonder” while I make!

I wish you could see the sparkle on this one in person! Here’s how I made it!

I wanted to cut the die and leave only an impression to color. I didn’t want the cuts to go all the way through the paper. You can accomplish this indifferent ways.. you can emboss the die or add a piece of packing tape to the back of your cardstock. My machine is getting old and requires a shim to cut completely. So all I had to do is remove the shim.

You can use any media you like to color the design. I used Copic markers. You don’t have to be clean and stay in the lines – you’re going to cover this panel with a clean die cut image.

To add some sparkle I mixed Ranger Glossy Accents with Gina K Glitz Gliter Gel. This made the gel more fluid and easier to spread. I added the clean die cut image die while the paste was still wet.

I stacked a second clean die cut to the first to add dimension and to give the look of stained glass.

This is a fun technique that will work with lots of different dies – I sure hope you’ll give it at try!

    Peaceful Snowflake
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by! I hope your holiday preparations are going smoothly and you’re enjoying time with the family!

If you like a little bling then this card is for you! There’s something about winter that makes me want to bring out the glitter and foil that remind me of ice and snow.

I’ve told you before that one of my favorite dies is the Viola Cover Plate Layer C. It’s just gorgeous with a stitched design and die cut openings. I’m convinced that it can make anything beautiful!

I inked the panel with Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac. The inky panel is layered over a silver foil panel so the foil peeks through the die cut openings.

The panel is topped with the Mini Snowflake Frame cut from white card stock and silver glitter paper.

A Double stitched Rectangle Frame from Poppystamps keeps the edges clean and gives the card a finished look.

I wish you could see this sparkly design in person.. the photos just don’t capture the shine! Hugs and all the best to you for a great day!

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great day ! If you’re feeling cooped up I encourage you to take a ride in the car. The leaves are changing colors and they’re absolutely gorgeous!

We took a recent visit to a local farm stand and it was a real lift for the soul! It wasn’t crowded and the assortment of harvest bounty on display was amazing!

My card today was made with the B layer of the Autumn Breeze layered die set.

Everything you see is inked with Distress Oxide Ink. My card base is shades of yellow and green, topped with the die cut panel in shades of blues, and the leaves are everything in between!

I love this die set and it’s absolutely worth every penny because it’s so versatile! If you look close you’ll see the pierced detail design on each of the die cut leaves. This die produces a large assortment of gorgeous detailed leaves.

I couldn’t cover this pretty panel so I added a simple sentiment using the Jumbo Lingo Hugs die cut. This too was inked with Distress Oxide Ink in Barn Door.

Enjoy the rainbow of color and beauty that only Autumn can bring!

    Distressed Autumn Breeze
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Fall is in the air and I’m enjoying the crisp cool nights and seeing the leaves turn color!

Birch Press Design is known for it’s innovative layered die sets, and honestly I think they keep getting better and better.

The sets are really versatile and more detailed. I used only two of the three dies in the set and covered the panels with distress ink before stacking them. I love the contrast of blue and orange. The yellow panel you see is the card base.

I really wanted you to get a close look at the detail on these panels. All three of the panels in the set have a beautiful pierced design. You can see the swirls on the blue cover panel that inspire the name of the set “Autumn Breeze”.

I inked the Thanks Honey Script die with Blueprint Sketch Distress ink to match the ink on the cover panel. The stamped sentiment is from the Lingo Thanks stamp set.

Autumn always gets me thinking of Thanksgiving – and I start counting my blessings. I just want you to know that I am ever so grateful for your friendship now and always. Hugs to you for always making me smile!

  • Torus Ring Wreath by Jeanne Jachna

    Torus Ring Wreath
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day! I’m sharing a holiday card in traditional red and green today!

The Torus Ring die cut is a fabulous geometric design with lots of possibilities. I’ve cut it in rainbow colors and thought ombre shades of green would make an amazing wreath.

The Torus Ring is a two die set. One die cut is the outline that I cut from white card stock, and the second die is a solid crescent that you adhere behind the outline die to add color.

Do you love that background die? That’s the BOTTOM layer of the Viola Plate layer set. I think it’s gorgeous and deserves a little attention of it’s own without being covered with the other layers!

The pop of red from the Peace Honey Script make it feel like Christmas! It will be here before you know it!

    So Glad We’re Friends
    by Jeanne Jachna

Thanks for stopping by! Have you seen the newest release in the store? You’ll love the new layered dies and stamp sets. You can see them all here.

My card features the new Viola Plate Layer Set over a rainbow distress ink background. I used only the A Layer from the set because I wanted to show you the intricate and delicate design.

I inked the rainbow colors with a cosmetic brush. You can find different sizes at Amazon. The smaller brushes make coloring thinner areas easier.

Do you see the glittery sparkle in the distress inking? I mixed ultra fine glitter with Ranger Glossy Accents and spread it with a spatula over the inked background. While it was still wet I placed the Viola die cut over it. When it was dry I added a Pierced Rectangle Frame for a more finished look and a JUMBO Lingo Hugs die cut.

I hope the happy colors make you smile!

  • Rainbow Roundabout Hugs by Jeanne Jachna

    Rainbow Roundabout Hugs
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi Friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Now that many of us are having elective medical procedures again, I thought a get well card was in order.

I’m sending big hugs and a rainbow of colors for a quick recovery.

I cut the Roundabout Layer C from white card stock leaving the cut outs in place. If you put packing tape on the back of your card stock before you run it through your machine it will keep all the pieces in place. I colored the chevrons with Copic Markers – much faster than inlaying the pieces!

I cut the Layer B from gold glitter card stock – did you know Memory Box has added papers to their offerings? The glitter paper comes in a 6″ pad and lots of colors!

If you love the Lingo Hugs die you’ll NEED the JUMBO Lingo Hugs die! It’s a nice big size to make your message is clear!

Hugs and good health to you as we move forward!
