Thanks So Very Much | By Eloise Blue

Hello friends, Eloise here and today I have a simple Thank You card using the Make A Statement Stamp Set as well as the Stitched Heart Dies.

I started off with ink blending some Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw at the bottom of my watercolour panel. I flicked on some water and dried it off with a heat tool.

I then stamped the ‘Thanks’ sentiment from Make A Statement onto the bottom of the panel and then die cut the two smallest hearts dies from Stitched Hearts from the bottom of the panel as well.

I then decided to use the Grace Layer A Dies as an embossing folder onto my white card base. I did this by using rubber mats through my die cutting machine. Once it was embossed I added foam tape onto the back of my coloured panel and adhered it on top of the card base.

Lastly, I white heat embossed the ‘So Very Much’ onto a thin black strip, adhered it onto the card base and added a hemp cord bow on the side.

  • Layered Stitched Hearts | By Desiree Kuemmerle

Layered Stitched Hearts | By Desiree Kuemmerle

    Hello Everyone and Welcome Back!

For today’s project, I chose a technique very simple using supplies we already have in our stash, cardstock!

I will be using the Stitched Heart Die Set, and not just one die, but all of them! I nested the dies within each other and used my tape to secure them in place.

Chose my card stock colors and die cut my images, keeping the die cuts together and in order as best as I can. I cut a piece of white cards stock to place in back of my panel so my hearts have a place to rest on as I build my layers.

Let the gluing begin… Choose which section of the heart you want to have more dimension and layer that card stock onto top of each other. Make sure the color you want to be on top is last! This is a great alternative if you do not have any foam tape!

Once my hearts are in place, I grabbed my sentiment from the Best Friends Clear Stamp set and heat embossed it using white embossing powder at the bottom of my design panel.

I added some sparkle using my shimmer pen to my hearts and then for two I added glaze to the top to add even more dimension.

    Our card is complete!

As always, I hope you enjoyed today’s project… and if you want to see more details just click on the video below and see how these projects come together step by step!

  • Hello Friend | by Tracey McNeely

Hello Friend | by Tracey McNeely

Hi there it’s Tracey here today with a fun take on using a mandala with a trendy alcohol ink background.

I created this background using one colour of alcohol ink! The colour is Eggplant and with using alcohol blending solution and an air puffer with some Yupo paper I was able to get all these fabulous purples, pinks and cranberry colours!

I simply started with a sheet of Yupo Paper and I added some drops of alcohol ink, followed by alcohol blending solution and then I moved the ink around quickly with an air puffer. These are the supplies I used for my card.

Once the panel was dry I cut Layer A of the Grace mandala craft die set from white cardstock which cut the panel in three pieces. I used just the centre cut mandala to create a frame for my two layer sentiment which will be the focal point of the card design. I cut the Big Hello Sugar Script die using white cardstock for the detail hello and heavyweight vellum for the shadow. I glued the two pieces together to form the main sentiment.

The second line of the sentiment was created from the Best Friend clear stamp set. I needed to do a bit of stamp surgery to create my custom sentiment to say exactly what I wanted it to say. Three stamps were cut and I pieced together for the perfect phrase to go with hello. The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder on to an eggplant coloured cardstock and then trimmed down to a thin strip.

The mandala was adhered to the alcohol inked background directly with liquid glue. Then the two line sentiment was added on top with foam adhesive tape to add a bit of dimension.

The alcohol inked background in these vibrant colours is the perfect backdrop to really make the white mandala and sentiment pop!

A really fun technique and seeing it all come together at the end made
the effort of creating the background so worth it. I hope you give a technique like this a try, it is a wonderful way to really showcase the Birch Press Design craft dies!

Thank you for stopping in today and be sure to come back again on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for more design team inspiration!

The Dahlia Framed | By Desiree Kuemmerle

    Hello Everyone and Welcome Back!

For today’s project, I kept it simple featuring the Dahlia Mini Frame Layering Die Set!

I started by choosing 3 colors in peach tones from light to dark and die cut my dahlia frame, making sure my card stock was positioned in the order I wanted it to be. Using my liquid adhesive, I layered my die cuts together and set aside under an acrylic block to dry.

Next I pulled out a piece of card stock measuring 4 inches x 5 ¼ inches and dry embossed it through my die cutting machine for added texture to my background. Using my blending brush I added some Bundled Sage Oxide ink in the area where my dahlia flower will be positioned.

I used a sentiment from the Lingo Thanks Clear Stamp set and stamped it using my versamark ink, heat embossed it in white fine detail embossing powder and propped it up on my card using some double-sided foam squares in the bottom right hand corner.

Added many sparkle gems to add some sparkle and our card is ready to be a part someone’s day!

  • Prismatic Triangle Hello by Jeanne Jachna

    Prismatic Triangle Hello
    by Jeanne Jachna

Hi and thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing a shaker card made with the Prismatic Triangle Layer set. The shiny sequins, and pretty, gold and black color scheme make this card stunning!

I started by cutting the Prismatic Triangle Layer set from three shades of card stock – black gold and white. Next I cut the die from a panel of white card stock that was slightly smaller than my card base.

I adhered a clear sheet of acetate behind the open window of the white panel and then started adhering the die cut Prismatic Triangle Layers in the opening on the front of the panel.

The large pink triangle was cut with the Tall Triangles set and is placed behind the layered Prismatic Triangles.

I cut a few extra triangles with the Prismatic Triangles Layers and added them as accents for more color.

There’s lots of shine going on here.. the gold glitter paper layer and lots of sparkly sequins in shades of pink.

The Big Lingo Hello sentiment adds more clean lines to this pretty in pink hello card. Adding a shaker element to different dies is a great way to add another layer of color and excitement to your designs.

    Finished Size 4.25 x 5.5″

    Color Block Congrats
    by Jennifer Svare

Hello! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by the blog today. I’ve made a card using the Maxwell Layer A, along with the Calligraphy Pop Congrats.

This card is so much fun to make, and so simple! I die cut three layers of the Maxwell out of a slightly metallic silver cardstock so that the frame would have some extra dimension against the colored squares.

In addition to cutting out of silver, I also cut one each of a krafty green, yellow, beige, and a couple shades of blues. These colors were cut so that I could inlay each square with a color square that fit perfectly.

The Congrats was cut out of a copper metallic cardstock, and the shadow was out of the gray.

So many different color combinations could be used. Light pastels with a bright silver could even work for congrats on the baby! Fun to make – I hope you enjoyed!

Have a great day, and I’ll see you again soon!

  • Shining Mandala Water Color | By Desiree Kuemmerle

Shining Mandala Water Color | By Desiree Kuemmerle

    Hello Everyone!

Let’s have some fun water coloring! For today’s project let’s use the Shining Mandala Stamp Set! This is perfect to be a focal point or as a background! When I started this, I was not sure which direction I wanted to go, so I just enjoyed creating.

I first started by prepping my water color paper with my anti-static tool to emboss two panels in gold and silver.

I then pulled out many colors from my distress inks but kept them together in a cool and warm pallet. For each panel I first added water and the dropped each color in, this is called a wet on wet technique. By having the embossed lines, it creates a barrier for your color. In some areas with will pool and others it will blend. It is wonderful to watch!

Once my panels were dry, it was time to decide what we wanted to create!

I placed my sentiments down onto a piece of card stock cut to 4 ¼ in x 5 ½ in so I could mark where I need to cut my panel.

The piece left was then placed onto the backside of my watercolor panels so I could trim around my cardstock. The panels left were then propped up onto my standard A2 size card base using double sided foam tape.

Time to stamp and die cut my sentiments and adhere them around my watercolor panels!

Added some shimmer to one card and now we have two ready for that special someone!

  • Big Thanks!by Jennifer Svare

    Big Thanks!
    by Jennifer Svare

Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by! Today I’ve made a thank you card using the gorgeous Pink Folia handmade paper available right here at Birchpress Design, along with the stunning Calen layers A and B.

For the Calen layers, I used two shades of brown for the base layer, and a gold vellum for the top layer. I love the extra details in Layer A that seem to float above the design. So pretty!

For the top and bottom borders, I chose the darker pink. To bring it all together, the Big Thanks Sugar Script is cut using white, with the lighter pink background.

Check out the video below for more info on how this card was made! Have a great day, and I’ll see you again soon!

Hugs Hugs Hugs | By Eloise Blue

Hello friends, Eloise here and today I’ll be using the Big Hugs Sugar Script Dies to create this die cut word rainbow background.

I first took a piece of watercolour cardstock and cut it down to approximately 3 1/2″ wide by 5 1/8″ tall. I then took six colours of Distress Oxide Inks and blended them onto the background in rainbow order.

(Distress Oxide Inks Used: Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves)

Once they were all ink blended I splattered on some water droplets to the background. Picked it up with a paper towel and dried off the background with a heat tool. I then cut the word ‘Hugs‘ three times from the centre of the ink blended panel. I made sure to keep all the inside pieces too, so I could adhere them later.

I added foam tape onto the back of my ink blended panel and adhered it onto a white card base. I then adhered the insides of the letters too, so you would easily make out the words.

Lastly, I white heat embossed the ‘It’s Your Birthday’ sentiment from Wishing You The Best onto a think black strip. I popped it up on foam tape and added a hemp cord bow to the side for some added texture.

Adora Layering Dies | By Desiree Kuemmerle

    Hello Everyone!

I am here today making a Birthday Card perfect for any age! I am in love with the regal look of black and gold when layered together! Depending on how you layer your cardstock you will get a different look every time.

I started by cutting my layers using card stock from my stash. What I love about this die set is all the wonderful hearts you get that are perfect for a future shaker card. So, make sure you save all those wonderful pieces!

Once my card stock was cut, I layered the outer and center rings together using liquid adhesive. I also cut a piece of card stock to a Standard A2 4 1/4 inch x 5 1/2 inch top folding card base in black.

For my sentiment I chose the Big Birthday Die and I made sure it was front and center using the gold mirror card stock with black as the shadow.

After my sentiment and layered die cuts were in place I used my versamark ink and my gold embossing powder for a small sentiment from the Lingo Thank Stamp Set placed down in the bottom right hand corner of my card.

As always, I hope you enjoyed today’s project… and if you want to see more details just click on the video below and see how these projects come together step by step!
