    Hi, crafty friends! Dilay Nacar here from JustCallMeDee.com and I am so excited to be sharing my first card as a member of the Birch Press Design Team! It’s truly an honor to be sharing my creations and today, I’ll be going over a fall themed ‘Give Thanks’ card that I created using some of my favorite dies and stamps!

    To begin, I made the leaves using Layer B from ‘Autumn Breeze Plate Layer Set’ die and Bristol Smooth cardstock, then colored them various fall colors using the ‘smooshing’ technique with Distress Oxide inks. I set these aside to dry while I worked on the background.

    For this layer, I wanted a clean white background with layered detail, so I used the ‘Petal Triangle Layer Set’. I die cut each layer (A, B, and C) in white heavyweight cardstock then adhered them together using liquid adhesive. I prepared 3 sets of these triangles – one for each of the sides and one for the top of the card – then used liquid adhesive to adhere them onto an A2 sized, white 100 lb cardstock base.

    Next, I used the ‘Pumpkin Lacework’ stamp and die to make the main image. I heat embossed the pumpkin stamp and stem stamp using a copper embossing powder. I cut out the image using the coordinating die and adhered it onto the background.

    Once leaves were dry, I placed them along the bottom of the pumpkin image (and one on the stem) then made a bow using a piece of twine and adhered it onto the stem.

    For the sentiment, I used the same ‘Pumpkin Lacework’ stamp and die set and heat embossed it using a fine gold embossing powder. I used foam tape to adhere it along the bottom of the pumpkin.

    Finally, to complete my card, I used off-brand gold flat back bobbles and placed them throughout the pumpkin pattern.

    Hello everyone! It’s Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook and I appreciate you stopping by today. I’ve got a really pretty fall themed thanks card to share with you today. Let’s get crafting!

    I blending distress oxide inks on an A2 panel using Aged Mahogany, Rusty Hinge and Carved Pumpkin.

    I spritzed it with water and flicked a bunch of gold watercolor on the panel. Then, because I’m impatient, I hit it with my heat tool to speed up the drying process.

    Next, I die cut the inked panel with Autumn Breeze Plate A and a gold mirrored panel with Plate C. I also cut a brown piece of cardstock down to A2 size.

    When I layered them all together the brown looked really flat showing through so I decided to try inking up the colored cardstock. I used Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs distress oxides. I spritzed it with water and didn’t like the look so I inked up over the top of it. I love the versatility of this!

    I used liquid glue to adhere my layers together and put clear blocks on top to help them dry flat. While they were drying I die cut the Thanks Honey Script from the same gold mirror and brown as the rest of the card. The words are cut 4 times and glued together with liquid glue.

    For a little dimension and interest I popped the sentiment up with foam squares and adhered the whole panel to a white card base.

    Here’s a different look at all that gold in the light. I just love the shimmer and shine from the mirrored cardstock and the metallic watercolor. They are beautiful together!

    Using Your Dies to Create a Scene

    Hi there, it’s Tracey back here today and I have a quick tutorial to show you how I got inventive with my dies to help me create a scene on a grassy field.

    I started off with a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock, my favourite for use with Disress Oxides inks. All my colouring today was done with Distress Oxide inks. I ink blended my grass at the bottom of my panel using Pine Needles and Lucky Clover inks.

    I wanted to create clouds for my sky but I didn’t have a cloud stencil or die. So I used the Regal Peacock dies set, Layer A to make my own stencil.

    I cut the tail using lightweight cardstock, and turned the tail on it side and blended a cloudy sky using Tumbled Glass ink. Moving the stencil along from left to right, carefully turning it to fit the cloudy scene I was trying to make. Now that my background is done I set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

    The pumpkin and stem from the Pumpkin Lacework stamp set were stamped and clear embossed on Bristol Cardstock once again. I blended Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Carved Pumpkin ink over the embossed pumpkin to add a bit of shading and dimension. I blended Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap ink over the pumpkin stem. I cut the ink blended shapes out with the coordinating dies.

    The leaves that are around the base of the pumpkin are from Layer B of the Autumn Breeze dies set. After I cut the panel, with Bristol Smooth cardstock, I ink blended the individual leaves in autumn colours.

    I cut the wavy banner die from the Christmas Ornaments and Labels stamps set from white cardstock. Then I stamped a sentiment is from the You Are Awesome stamp set on to the banner. When I picked up the banner I got a bit of orange ink on to the one side of the banner. No need to start again, I just blended orange ink all around the banner. So now it is just between you and me!

    It was so fun to create a my scene using just what I had on hand. The peacock tail die came in handy to create those clouds in my scene. I  hope I have encouraged you to look at your supplies a bit differently. Just another way to maximize the use of what you have.

    Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great day ! If you’re feeling cooped up I encourage you to take a ride in the car. The leaves are changing colors and they’re absolutely gorgeous!

    We took a recent visit to a local farm stand and it was a real lift for the soul! It wasn’t crowded and the assortment of harvest bounty on display was amazing!

    My card today was made with the B layer of the Autumn Breeze layered die set.

    Everything you see is inked with Distress Oxide Ink. My card base is shades of yellow and green, topped with the die cut panel in shades of blues, and the leaves are everything in between!

    I love this die set and it’s absolutely worth every penny because it’s so versatile! If you look close you’ll see the pierced detail design on each of the die cut leaves. This die produces a large assortment of gorgeous detailed leaves.

    I couldn’t cover this pretty panel so I added a simple sentiment using the Jumbo Lingo Hugs die cut. This too was inked with Distress Oxide Ink in Barn Door.

    Enjoy the rainbow of color and beauty that only Autumn can bring!

    Good morning! Ardyth here with an easy way to get more from the gorgeous leafy background in the Christmas Ornament and Labels stamp set.

    First, I stamped the background with green ink and did some no-line colouring with alcohol markers. I die cut an ornament and blended it with red ink, leaving a lighter area on the top right as a highlight. I popped it up on the card right over the ornament outline that is part of the stamped background.

    I stamped one of the banner sentiments and cut it out, and popped it up over two of the branches, cut with the die included with the set. I added Nuvo Clear Crystal Drops to my red berries.

    Then, I did it all again! This time, I chose a darker, warmer green colour for my leaves, and orange and pink for my berries.

    I covered the stamped ornament outline with a die cut pumpkin from the Pumpkin Lacework stamp set. I blended orange ink over it, using the edge of the negative portion of my die cut, to give some dimension.

    I stamped one of the included sentiments, cut it out and popped it up on the pumpkin, along with the stem and a maple leaf.

    I hope you’re inspired to look at your stamps and dies to see how you can change them up and get more from them!

    Happy Thursday readers! This is Crystal here with you today. I know that you have been seeing lots of beautiful Christmas inspiration here on the Birch Press Design blog recently, but admittedly I’m kind of a Grinch, so I don’t “do” Christmas until December 1! : ) I will stretch out fall (MY favorite season) for as long as I possibly can. Today’s card is a great example, because I’m not even sure that “fall peacock’s” are a thing, but I’m starting the movement. (I’m also side-Googling if any other peacock colors exist other than the blue-green hues we traditionally see). . . And if not, they do now!

    The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah White Solar Smooth cardstock. This is my go-to white cardstock that I use for everything from card bases, die cutting, stamping and Copic coloring. The first 5 1/4″ x 4″ mat is a piece of miscellaneous woodgrain foil paper. I die cut a large white oval from white cardstock and adhered it to the center of the card using a Tombow Permanent Dot Runner.

    Using the Regal Peacock Layering dies, I die cut the bottom layer (Layer D) from gold glitter cardstock. I die cut Layer C from cherry cardstock. I die cut Layer B from rust cardstock and finally Layer A was also cut from gold glitter cardstock. I also cut the body of the peacock from cherry cardstock.

    I adhered all four layers of the Regal Peacock together using LineCo ph bookbinding glue. This glue is my preferred liquid glue and holds glitter paper together much better than a dot runner. I adhered the completed peacock to the center of the oval using foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock (using the Christmas Ornament Labels stamp set) in cherry ink and die cut it using the coordinating die. I adhered the sentiment to the lower right side of the card using foam adhesive.

    Hopefully I’ve convinced you that with a little imagination, peacocks can look beautiful in any color – even if it’s not “real.”

    Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Fall is in the air and I’m enjoying the crisp cool nights and seeing the leaves turn color!

    Birch Press Design is known for it’s innovative layered die sets, and honestly I think they keep getting better and better.

    The sets are really versatile and more detailed. I used only two of the three dies in the set and covered the panels with distress ink before stacking them. I love the contrast of blue and orange. The yellow panel you see is the card base.

    I really wanted you to get a close look at the detail on these panels. All three of the panels in the set have a beautiful pierced design. You can see the swirls on the blue cover panel that inspire the name of the set “Autumn Breeze”.

    I inked the Thanks Honey Script die with Blueprint Sketch Distress ink to match the ink on the cover panel. The stamped sentiment is from the Lingo Thanks stamp set.

    Autumn always gets me thinking of Thanksgiving – and I start counting my blessings. I just want you to know that I am ever so grateful for your friendship now and always. Hugs to you for always making me smile!

    Hello readers! This is Crystal here with you today sharing some colorful thank you cards made just using one layer of a multi-layering die.

    Fall is my favorite time of year and I simply can’t get enough of the beautiful Autumn Breeze Layering plates. They are simply gorgeous, whether layered using all three plates, or by just using Layer Plate A as a standalone die. The real bells and whistles on today’s cards come from the bold, colorful glitter paper BEHIND the die cut image itself!

    Hello, friends! I am so happy to be here today sharing this stitched card I made using Birch Press Designs’s Autumn Leaves Layering Die Set. This card was such fun and was so easy to make thanks to these beautiful layering dies!

    I started my card by die cutting layers A and B, adhering them together, then adhering them atop an A2-sized aqua base. I then die cut my leaves using pretty shades of pink, orange, and yellow cardstock using layer c. To add some extra texture and dimension, I stitched the leaves using 4 strands of 6-strand embroidery floss. To achieve this, I poked holes in every about other stitch hole with a paper piercer to enlarge the holes. I then stitched through those holes using a simple backstitch.

    I then used Poppystamps’s Greetings Basics stamp set to emboss my sentiment in gold onto white cardstock. I fussy cut a tag shape and popped it up on foam tape. I then adhered a pretty gold ribbon underneath the tag and adhered the leaves around the tag using liquid adhesive. A few gems here and there finished this card.

    Hi there and Happy Fall! It’s Tracey here today and as I was blending my leaves for today’s post the leaves outside my window are almost blending just as fast. Just like a light switch summer turned off and autumn has arrived.

    For today’s card I used only one die, Layer B, from the Autumn Breeze Layer dies. A brilliantly designed set of three dies that all work together but can each work independently of one another giving you options to showcase two different scenes. Layer B can be used all on it’s own and cuts all these beautiful stitched leaves.

    I cut a panel from Bristol Smooth cardstock and I ink blended each individual leaf using Distress Oxide inks. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain to create a variety of different coloured leaves.

    I cut another A2 sized panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock and then ink blended a background using more Distress Oxide inks. I started with Crushed Olive and then brought in some Peeled Paint from the edges and finished off with some Walnut Stain just on the edges.

    I covered the card front with a piece of gold paper from the Polished Foil pad and then I adhered the green ink blended panel over top. Each one of the blended leaves was inlaid into the die cut. The gold splatters were created from red gold metallic watercolours.

    Once dry I added a sentiment from the Pumpkin Lacework stamp set. I used the ‘Fall is in the air’ quote which I gold embossed on brown cardstock and die cut it with the co-ordinating Pumpkin Lacework die set. The sentiment was added with foam tape to complete the card.
