Welcome back everyone, and happy Saturday! April here sharing a card in support of #cardsforUkraine.
This card features the Field of Blooms layering plate set alongside the beautiful, new Memory Box Rainbow Reflections 6×6 mirror cardstock pad.
I started with the Field of Blooms plate Layer A and cut it from heavyweight white cardstock. I then cut Layer B from a bright blue piece of mirror or foil cardstock I pulled from the Memory Box Rainbow Reflections 6×6 mirror cardstock pack.
Next, I cut die cut Layer C from a piece of yellow cardstock pulled from the Memory Box Sunny Orange 6×6 cardstock pack.
I wanted something bright to show through the bottom of all of the layers so the most bottom layer of the card is a piece of blue glitter cardstock I pulled from the Memory BoxTwinkling Jewel 6×6 Glitter Pad. I cut the 6×6 piece of cardstock down to A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″).
I then adhered Layer C (the die cut yellow piece) to the blue glitter cardstock using doublesided tape since I find this works well on a glitter surface.
I then used liquid glue to adhere the other two layers (A and B) on top of Layer C, and glued the entire sandwich onto an A2 cardfront created from heavyweight cardstock. In the end I ended up with a nice sandwich made up of four layers: White cardstock (top layer), Mirror cardstock, Yellow cardstock, Glitter cardstock (bottom layer).
I used the Big Hugs Sugar Script dies for my sentiment, cutting the shadow from the same blue mirror cardstock, and the sentiment from heavyweight white cardstock that I layered a few times.
Lastly, I used silver jewels from the Memory Box Christams Fairy Jewels set to add some sparkle to each little leaf/swirl impression on the front of the card.
Thank you for joining me today for this short blog tutorial. I hope everyone has a great weekend and continues to be inspired to create!
Happy Sunday everyone! I am excited to be back on the blog today sharing a layered card using the new Dainty Rose & Leaves die set. Birch Press recently released a line of beautiful layering dies and they all coordinate so beautifully with each other.
For the card I am sharing today I am using two of the layering dies along with a layering background die for some extra dimension and interest.
To start, I used the Kinsley Heart Plate Layer A and die cut it three times — twice from heavyweight white cardstock and once from lavender cardstock taken from the Memory Box Vibrant Violet cardstock pack. I glued those layers together, putting the lavender layer on top, and then adhered it to a A2 card base.
Next, I wanted cut florals that would match the background so I used the same Vibrant Violet cardstock pack and chose three shades of violet that were light, medium and dark to cut the flowers from so I could add some dimension to the die cuts. I cut the leaves from green cardstock pulled from the Memory Box Lush Green cardstock pad
Fun tip: For layering flowers, starting with a light base and then working your way to the darker base on top is always a tried a true formula.
For my florals I realized that I wanted a prominent flower so I used the Dainty Rose & Leaves layering die set to die cut the lavender roses. Later, after adhering the roses and leaves to the card I realized that I had a lot of open space so I decided to fill it in with smaller flowers and leaves from the Tiny Tuft Flowers & Leaves die set.
Both of these sets are easy to use and I will usually die cut all of my pieces and then assemble them all at once to save time.
After cutting out my flower layering pieces I took a piece of heavy weight vellum and die cut a small sized oval to use as the base for the sentiment on my card. For my sentiment I chose the Honey Script ‘Hello’ die set. Using the same violet paper pad as I did for the flowers, I die cut the sentiment from a medium toned purple and the shadow from a lighter, lavender color. I also cut the sentiment a few times from white cardstock and layered it all together using liquid glue for extra dimension.
Now, here is one of my tricks for gluing down vellum to a card, since it’s very see-through. Remember that vellum oval I cut earlier? I took that oval, adhered the stacked ‘hello’ die to it, and arraned all of the flowers and leaves I had assembled around the edge of the oval. I did all of this with the oval on top of my card base so I wouldn’t accidentally go too far over the edge of the card.
Once I had all of the florals arranged how I wanted to them I glued them down to the oval with either liquid glue or foam dots, then flipped the entire arrangement over to the back. I then only put adhesive on the parts of the vellum that were covered with the florals and leaves so the glue wouldn’t show through on the front. I turned the arrangement back over and adhered the entire thing to the front of the card.
I added some Memory Box clear jewels as a finshing touch and the card was done!

For the second card I created, I used the same design but used a different color scheme and sentiment. The new layering dies are so versatile and work in a rainbow of colors.
I used pink cardstock from the Memory Box Berry Red cardstock pad, as well as the shadow layer from the Honey Script ‘Hello’ die set. I die cut the ‘Hello’ a few times from white cardstock and once from pink cardstock, and layered it all together. One other change I made is to use an oval cut from white cardstock, instead of vellum, as the mat for my sentiment.
I finished off the card with Memory Box clear fairy drops.
That is all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by and I really hope you will give the new layering floral dies a try. They are fun to use and can help you create some amazing card designs.
Hello Birch Press Design fans! This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today sharing some quick and simple thank you cards in a variety of colors that could be used for nearly any occasion.
Each of these A2 sized cards were made the exact same way, I simply swapped out different color cardstocks to show how the cards look in alternating colors.
The base of each card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of colored cardstock (peach, lime and ocean) and adhered this directly to the card base. Using Layer Plate B of the new Flora Plate Layering dies, I cut three pieces from white cardstock. I die cut the word “thanks” using the Thanks Honey Script dies. I cut the bottom shadow layer from the coordinating color cardstock (peach, lime and ocean) and the top thinner layer from white cardstock. I adhered both layers together using a fine-tip liquid glue. Then I layered the entire sentiment to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.
These cards were very simple to make and came together quickly, making it a great design if you need multiples! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
Happy Wednesday everyone! You’ve made it to the middle of the week and perhaps it’s time to show yourself a little self-love. How about starting with taking a break to checkout today’s card by new DT member April Antonio, created using the beautiful Flora Plate Layer Set.
Card dimensions: This card is A2 size or 4 1/4″ by 5.5″
Card creation: I used Flora Plate Layers A and B and cut them each one time from heavyweight white cardstock (110# cardstock). I made sure all of the pieces from Layer B (the bottom layer) were removed and then adhered it to my A2 card base.
Next, I decided I wanted to use some of the diecut flowers from Layer A to glue back into the layer — a technique called diecut inlay. I decided on a triangle shape on each side of the card. I then only removed the flower pieces from Layer A that I was not going to be using for the diecut inlay technique.
I took each flower piece I was keeping and smooshed them into an ink pad color of my choosing and let the ink dry. After they were dry I used liquid adhesive to piece them back into each space to create the diecut inlay look. The pieces were very easy to pop right back into the spaces they were originally cut from.
Sentiment creation: Now I had a beatifully colorful and background and wanted a simple and elegant greeting to go with it. I used the Contempo Greetings clear stamp set to stamp ‘thank you’ in black pigment ink, and then heat embossed over the words with clear embossing powder.
I used the coordinating Contempo Die set to die cut the sentiment out. Lastly, I ahdered it in the center of the card with a small piece of foam tape.
I love how the Flora Plate Layer Set can be used with all three layers, two, or even just one to create beautiful cards.
Thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoyed this post, and will try the Flora Layering plate set for yourself.
This slimline card measures 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Slimline cards are designed to fit inside a regular business envelope and require no additional postage. The base of this card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I also cut a 8 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of the same white cardstock for the first matted layer.
To create the balloons:
From white cardstock, I die cut 5 balloons using Layer Plate B of the Floral Balloons Layer Set. Then I die cut one each of Layer A in red, orange, yellow, green and blue cardstock. I layered the two together and adhered them vertically down the card in a ROYGBIV rainbow pattern.
To create all the “party” sentiments, I die cut the thicker shadow layer of “party” in red, orange, yellow, green and blue cardstock. I die cut the thinner top layer from rainbow patterned paper and adhered the two layers together with a fine-tip glue. I adhered the words vertically down the card (over the balloons) using 3M foam adhesive. Lastly, I added the word “let’s” created from layering black and white cardstock together and adhered this sentiment to the bottom third of the card.
I hope you are enjoying may of the many F-U-N new products from Birch Press Design! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card made using the Butterfly Basics layer die set and a single layer from the Flora Plate layer dies.
I started off by die cutting the four pieces of the butterfly from green and yellow cardstocks. I used a blending brush and green dye ink to add a bit of shading to the second layer of the butterfly, and then I adhered the layer to the base layer. Next, I added just a bit of glue to the very center of the butterfly wings detail layer and adhered that to the base. Leaving the edges of this layer unglued lets it lift up from the base and creates even more dimension. To finish off the butterfly, I adhered its body to the center.
Next, I used the Flora Plate Layer C die to cut a piece of white cardstock. I adhered this piece to a white card base to create a white-on-white background, and then I adhered the butterfly with foam tape. I finished off the card by adhering a printed sentiment from my stash.
Hi and thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re having a great day! Have you seen the new release in the store? I’m smitten with the new Adornment Poppy!
Today I’m sending you some sunshine with this bright floral birthday card that looks fussy but was so easy to make!
I started with the NEW Flora plate cut in ombre yellow orange cardstock and adhered them together. I use a large acrylic block to hold them in place as the glue sets. This set is so pretty I wanted to show you each of the plates. I think the individual layers – particularly the Layer C make beautiful stand alone dies.
Next I assembled the poppy and lots of leaves in different shades of green. This set includes BOTH a detailed die as well as a background die for the leaves and flower.
I used the Contempo Greetings set to create the Happy Birthday Sentiment. I think this set is clever because the dies matches the Contempo Christmas set.
I adhered the pretty floral with adhesive foam tape. Raising the flower allowed me to tuck the leaves under the flower and add dimension.
Of course I didn’t want to cover that pretty background so a simple (and small) sentiment seemed best. A few Memory Box Fairy Drops add a little shine like dew drops.
I hope this card makes you smile and that you have a fantastic day!
Hi there and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a simple card made using a single layer from the Flora Plate layer dies. I really like this Flora Layer B die with its little flowers!
I started off by creating an ink-blended background using three colors of Distress Oxide inks: Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, and Wild Honey
Next, I used the Floral Plate Layer B die to cut a piece of white cardstock. I glued the die cut over the background and then set the background aside.
Using the Big Hello Sugar Script dies, I cut the detail “hello” sentiment from coral cardstock and then cut the shadow layer from white cardstock. I adhered the two layers together and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the background.
To finish the card, I added a small sentiment from my stash and then adhered the card front to a card base.
Hello readers and happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. This is DT member Crystal Komara here with you. The weekends are one of the few times I have to craft, so you’ll most likely find me in my craft room today. I’m so excited to be sharing some of the brand new dies that Birch Press Design has to offer in January! Many of these newly released products focus on birthdays, so my first card using the new Floral Balloon Layer Set and the Make a Wish Sugar Script dies is a fun shaker card. Nothing says let’s celebrate like sparkle and sequins!
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Pinpoint Radial Plate, I cut my first layer from white cardstock. This pinpoint die is what you see behind the balloons. I adhered this pinpoint embossed cardstock directly to the card base. I placed approximately 1 tablespoon each of black and raspberry sequins on the pinpoint embossed cardstock. I created a shaker frame using a scalloped rectangle die and a smaller scalloped rectangle die. I lined the back of the frame with clear acetate. I lined the back of the frame with thin strips of 3M foam adhesive, ensuring that every send and seal was covered so no sequins would fall out. I placed the frame directly over the sequins and pressed firmly sealing the edges.
I die cut the words “make a wish” from black cardstock and white cardstock and layered the two together with a fine-tip glue. I put the sentiment aside to save for the final layer.
Creating the balloons:
For the first (black and white balloon) I used the Floral Balloon Layer Set. I die cut Layer B from black cardstock and layered it over a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed by hand to the same shape. I adhered this balloon directly to the acetate on the front of the card.
For the second balloon (black/pink and white), I also used the Floral Balloon Layer Set. I die cut Layer A from pink glitter cardstock, Layer B from Black cardstock and then again, I layered the balloons over white cardstock and trimmed the white cardstock by hand to form the balloon shape. I adhered this second balloon over the first balloon using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.
Lastly, I added the “make a wish” sentiment to the card also using 3M foam adhesive.
I hope you like today’s shaker card using some of the NEW Birch Press Design products! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
Thanks for stopping by, BPD fans! Tonihere with you today sharing a Galentine card using the Kinsley Heart Plate Layering dies.
I started by sponging the bottom layer with Distress Oxides Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves and Festive Berries. I then adhered this to the navy card base.
My second layer is white followed by the Memory Box Delicate Pastel Glitter cardstock top layer.
I cut the Jumbo Lingo Hugs top layer out of glitter as well with the shadow from navy foil. Bling-a-ding! To complete the card I embossed the Happy Lingo sentiment in white on navy.
I really love the navy and pinks color combo. It makes my heart happy! I hope you enjoyed today’s card and have a great rest of your week!
