    Flora Hello | By Seeka

Hi there and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a simple card made using a single layer from the Flora Plate layer dies. I really like this Flora Layer B die with its little flowers!

I started off by creating an ink-blended background using three colors of Distress Oxide inks: Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, and Wild Honey

Next, I used the Floral Plate Layer B die to cut a piece of white cardstock. I glued the die cut over the background and then set the background aside.

Using the Big Hello Sugar Script dies, I cut the detail “hello” sentiment from coral cardstock and then cut the shadow layer from white cardstock. I adhered the two layers together and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the background.

To finish the card, I added a small sentiment from my stash and then adhered the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a very quick and easy sunny card that features the Arista Layer die set and the Pinpoint Radial Plate.

To start, I die cut the three layers of the Arista set. I used white cardstock for layer A, a sunny yellow for layer B, and a bright turquoise for layer C. Then I adhered them together and added yellow jewel embellishments.

Next, I used the Pinpoint Radial Plate to add a radiating pattern of circles to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock.

To assemble the card, I simply glued the Arista piece to the center background and then used foam tape to adhere a sentiment from my stash. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I have a card featuring the Delight layer die set. Even though winter hasn’t officially started, I’m already looking forward to spring so I chose some light and bright colors for this easy card.

To start, I used the three layers of the die set to cut white, peach, and coral cardstock. I cut two sets and then I used a blending brush to blend red dye ink into the center of the Layer C die cuts to add some depth and color variation.

I adhered each set of layers together and then trimmed each medallion in half. I adhered the four pieces, offset, around the edges of a background that I made by masking off the borders of a 4.25″ x 5″ panel of white cardstock and blending light green and light blue dye inks into the exposed area.

Next, I used foam tape to adhere a sentiment from my stash that was stamped on a rectangle of white cardstock and adhered to a slightly larger rectangle of vellum.

Blue Frosty Flake | By Seeka

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card featuring the Frosty Flake die set over a background made with Distress Paint.

I started with the background. I dropped several drops of Broken China Distress Paint onto a craft mat and then sprayed the drops with a few spritzes of clean clear water. Next, I dragged a 4.25″ x 5.5″ inch piece of heavy white cardstock through the drops, covering most of the panel with paint. While the paint and panel are wet, the diluted paint moves around to create a soft and cloudy effect. I let the panel dry a bit and then dabbed it again into the paint on the craft mat to create the more distinct droplets of color.

While the panel was drying, I used the Frosty Flake Layer die set to die cut two snowflakes. I die cut layer A from white cardstock twice and layer C from Tonic Craft Perfect Silky Sky Satin Effect Mirror cardstock twice; I skipped layer B. I adhered the layers of each snowflake together and then set them aside.

Next, I used the Simple Joy die to create the sentiment. I cut the detail layer from the same Silky Sky cardstock, and I cut the shadow layer from white cardstock. Then I adhered the two layers together.

To assemble the card, I adhered the two snowflakes to the background and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment. Finally, I adhered the card front to a card base.

To start, I used the Flicker Frames Layer B die to cut white cardstock and then adhered the two sides of the frame to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of light blue cardstock.

Next, I used the Flicker Ornament Layer B die to cut a piece of dark pink cardstock. I flicked opaque white paint over the ornament and then adhered it to Layer C, which I cut from white cardstock.

I used foam tape to adhere the ornament to the background and then added little clear jewels over the background and on the ornament.

To finish, I used foam tape to pop up a sentiment from my stash and then I adhered the card front to a card base.

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card featuring the Marisol Frames and Marisol Ornament Layer sets.

To start, I cut the four layers of the ornament from three different cardstock colors. I used a red for the solid layer (which is part of the Ornament Basics die set), a peachy pink for Marisol Layer B, and white for Marisol Layers A and C. I adhered the four layers together and set them aside.

Next, I used the Marisol Frames Layer A die to cut white cardstock. I adhered the two pieces to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of light pink cardstock and then used foam tape to adhere the ornament.

For the sentiment, I used the Big Joy Sugar Script die set. I cut the sentiment from the same red cardstock as the ornament’s solid layer, and then cut the shadow layer from vellum. I adhered the two layers together and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the ornament.

To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Gel Press Viola Background | By Seeka

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card featuring the Viola Plate Layer A die and a gel press technique. This is a very different style for me and I’m having a lot of fun with it!

I started by using the cover die to cut a piece of heavy white cardstock. This piece will be used to create the pattern on the finished background but won’t itself be used on the final card.

Next, I put a few small blobs of two acrylic paint colors onto a gel press plate. I used two jewel-toned colors for this card: Dina Wakley’s Fuchsia and Blackberry Acrylic Paint.

Next, I used a brayer to spread and blend the two colors. I purposefully did not completely blend the colors together because I wanted to maintain a mottled color variation on the final piece.

Immediately after spreading the paint, I placed the die cut panel over the plate and used a craft pick to gently tap over it to press the piece into the paint. It’s important to make sure that the die cut makes contact with the paint to ensure that, when you pull the die cut away, the paint it touches is lifted away from the gel press plate. After I’d pressed over multiple areas of the die cut, I lifted it away.

During this process, some of the paint also beads up as if the gel press plate is resisting the paint. This is what creates the slightly distressed look on the finished panel. I’ve found that this happens inconsistently and that sometimes the color and the brand of paint can make a difference.

I let this layer dry for several minutes until when I gently touched it, no paint transferred to my finger. Then I put a few dabs of an iridescent gold acrylic paint (I used Golden Iridescent Bright Gold Fine) onto the plate and used a brayer to spread it into a very thin layer.

Immediately, while the gold layer was wet, I placed a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock over the gel press plate and used the palms of my hands to press it into the plate. Then I peeled it away which lifted the two layers of paint with it.

While the panel was drying, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Happy Lingo stamp set onto black cardstock.

To assemble the card, I trimmed the background to 4.25″ x 5.5″ and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment. I finished by adhering the card front to a card base.

    Arista Corners | By Seeka

Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card featuring the Arista Layer Die set. I really love how the middle layer of this set cuts some texture detail; it’s very different from most of the layer die sets!

I started by cutting the three Arista layers in shades of salmon and peachy pinks.

Next, I adhered the three layers together and then cut the resulting piece into quarters. I adhered each of the four pieces to the corners of a 3.5″ x 4.75″ panel of white cardstock.

For the sentiment, I used the Handwritten Thanks die set. I cut the detail sentiment from a piece of light gray cardstock and I cut the shadow layer from vellum. I adhered the layers together and then used very thin pieces of foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the center of the Arista panel.

To finish, I used foam tape to adhere the panel to the center of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of pale pink cardstock and then I adhered the combined card front to a card base.

    Butterfly Hugs | By Seeka

Hello! Seeka here and I hope you’re having a nice day! Today I have a quick and easy card featuring the Glimmer Butterfly die set.

I started off by cutting the three layers for the butterfly. I used the solid layer from the Butterfly Basics die set to cut light pink cardstock, and then I used Glimmer Butterfly layers A and B to cut white and dark pink cardstock, respectively. I also used a die from the Butterfly Basics die set to cut the butterfly’s body out of light gray cardstock.

I adhered the layers of the butterfly together using glue and glue dots only at the center of the butterfly so that the layers could lift away from each other at the tips of the butterfly’s wings.

Next, I created a quick background by spraying a shimmery blue spray over a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I concentrated the color towards the bottom left corner of the panel. When the panel was dry, I trimmed 3/8″ off both the length and the width of the panel and then stamped a sentiment from the Brush Sentiments stamp set.

To finish, I adhered the butterfly to the background and then used foam tape to adhere the background to an A2-sized card base.

    Rainbow Hello | By Seeka

Hello and welcome! It’s Seeka here today sharing a card featuring the Viola Plate Layer die set. These intricate layers are standouts on their own, or they can be a great way to finish off a ink-blended panel, as I’ve done here.

I started off by using foam blending tools to blend a rainbow (minus a couple of colors) onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock. For this background, I used Distress Oxide inks: Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Abandoned Coral.

Next, I used Viola Plate Layers A and B to die cut white cardstock.

Next, I adhered the layers together.

Using the Big Hello Sugar Script die set, I die cut the sentiment from blue cardstock and its shadow layer from white cardstock. I adhered the two pieces together and then used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the background. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.
