Strawberry Dream

In the summer time, a great family tradition is having an ice cream night. We get out our lovely homemade bowls and set up a lovely scene outside to sit and enjoy with friends and family. Almost any person on this planet enjoys ice cream. Whatever type of sweets you’re into there an ice cream flavor to go along with that dessert. Of course everyone has there favorite specialty ice cream but, what if you’re having a lot of people over like my family ice cream tradition? That is when the classic flavors come out. With their sweet but subtle taste it can be created into anyone’s favorite creation with toppings! I make an ice cream recipe that is classic and will please everyone!  This recipe will make about a quart which is the perfect size for having a few friends over for a bbq or maybe even a summer picnic.

Quick Strawberry Honey Ice Cream

You’ll Need:

Ice cream maker

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

A pinch of kosher salt

2 cups of heavy cream

1 cup of whole milk

1/4 cup of honey

1 1/2 cups of crushed strawberries

 

Directions:

1. Toss the honey, sugar, and strawberries together into a bowl and let sit for 30 minutes.

2. Bring to a boil the cream, milk, and salt in medium sauce pan. Remove from heat and let cool for thirty minutes. Transfer to a glass bowl and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.

3. Stir the berry mixture into the cream mixture and pour into your ice cream maker. Follow instructions to process into ice cream.

 

That’s all and you’ve made yourself homemade ice cream! Now that you have the ice cream down don’t forget to make time for the decorations!
