Party Time!

All through the year I have one hobby that sticks with me through all seasons- throwing parties! I love getting the food and dessert ready, decorating my home, and of course mingling with all of my guests!

Usually I try to use the holidays as an excuse, but sometimes I want to have a get together just because! This can get tricky with decorating. I mean, I am not going to use Christmas decorations when the holiday is months away!

Here at Birch Press we are now offering a decoration tool for those out of the blue parties! We have cake toppers that spell out party, lets eat cake, and hooray! If that doesn’t scream a good time than you’re going to the wrong get together’s!

Revolutionary Shopping

Malls are packed, parking is terrible, and it’s just plain yucky weather outside (at least in Seattle). I try my best to avoid going to out in the real world to encounter real people in real situations during this time of the year. It can just be really stressful!

That’s why I stick to online shopping, and let me tell you, it has changed my life! I can stay in my pajamas all day, cozy up with a cup of tea and a blanket, and search the web for presents for friends and family from the comfort of my own home!

Now I know this is making me sound a little antisocial and lazy, but I’m telling you, it’s the best! When the packages show up at your doorstep, it’s like a mini Christmas, and what’s better than that?!

Card Worthy

Some may disagree, but I’m pretty confident that a majority of you out there think that this is the best time of the year. Yes, it’s extremely cold, but that’s not enough to get you down. There’s a special feeling that fills the air around this time. Too cheesy? Ok. But I do love December!

You don’t even have to wait until Christmas, or Hanukkah to get into the spirit either. It’s starts earlier than that with cards! Yes, those special cards you recieve from Aunt Joy telling you how just perfect her year has been. Or cousin John, who you haven’t spoken to in years, letting you know how good hunting season went.

I love to set them in a special place in the house like my mantle just so that I can keep getting excited for the holiday! At some point though, I get way too many cards and they don’t all fit on my mantle anymore! But, I don’t want to move any away because they’re all so pretty and equally important!

That’s when I bring out my card holders! This way, all cards get to stay on the mantle and be seen equally! Here at Birch Press we have two classic card stands that’ll work in any home. With their classic metal look, the card holders will not clash with any home decor!

On the Go Notebook

My life is constantly on-the-go. If I have time to sit down and make a full meal and dessert, I’m lucky. My new favorite dessert is a 10-minute recipe for a delicious cake. I mean how amazing is that! But that’s besides the point.

When you’re on-the-go sometimes a large journal is too much to take on the journey. You need something more compact so that you can fit everything with you. Just because you want something small and compact doesn’t mean you want something plain and boring. A cover should give just as much inspiration as the scenery around you in my opinion.

We have just the notebook for when you’re out and about! Our vintage blossom notebooks are a nice compact size (6 by 8 inches and 64 pages each). Seasonal Bedding

One thing I love to do when the season changes is redecorate my bed room a tad to get into the spirit!

I’ll do for summer a light stripped bedding for Autumn, a warm yellow print for spring, a white for autumn, and for winter a deep blue or a deep red color.

Changing things up a bit helps me to feel excited for any season that is coming my way.

I found the cutest DIY to help make my room feel more homey! I can’t wait to get started- it’s about time for some change around my place.

The Serious Cup

Something a Little Different

Every year it’s the same meal: turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and dinner roles. And yes, it’s delicious, but why not try something else? I’ve been thinking about trying duck this year around. I know it’s not traditional, but I’ve been wanting to switch it up for a while now.

Before you dismiss this idea, take a look at this recipe. I mean, how incredible does that look?! If it’s not a hit, then I can always go back to the classic turkey next year, but why not give it a shot.

I recently got my hands on Birch Press Design’s new cocottes. They are going to work perfectly for this dish! My mouth is already watering. I tend to get a little too excited when it comes to the holidays, but how can you resist?

Let’s Talk Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving is around the corner which you know what that means…another dinner I get to prepare! As you can probably guess, this holiday season is my favorite because of all the different recipes I get to try out.

At the beginning of the month, I’m searching high and low for the next best recipe to try out. And this year didn’t disappoint. Now I can’t resist a good dessert, so I was so ecstatic to find these apple pie cookies. And who doesn’t love leftovers? Here’s an recipe I want to try with all of the leftover cranberries from the day.

Trying new recipes can be fun, but unless you aren’t fully armed with the best cookware accessories, it can be tricky to get the dish down pat. Birch Press Design has started selling cookware and knives just in time for the holiday season, which is full of delicious food. The pots and pans will be a perfect set for cooking all of my dishes on the morning of Thanksgiving. And I cannot wait to get to slicing with the knives. A new razor sharp set is just what I needed in my kitchen.
