Hello and welcome! Seeka here and today I’m sharing a card featuring the Arista Layer Die set. I really love how the middle layer of this set cuts some texture detail; it’s very different from most of the layer die sets!
I started by cutting the three Arista layers in shades of salmon and peachy pinks.
Next, I adhered the three layers together and then cut the resulting piece into quarters. I adhered each of the four pieces to the corners of a 3.5″ x 4.75″ panel of white cardstock.
For the sentiment, I used the Handwritten Thanks die set. I cut the detail sentiment from a piece of light gray cardstock and I cut the shadow layer from vellum. I adhered the layers together and then used very thin pieces of foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the center of the Arista panel.
To finish, I used foam tape to adhere the panel to the center of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of pale pink cardstock and then I adhered the combined card front to a card base.
Hello crafty readers and happy 1st of September! For those of us who love fall (ME ME ME!) then let the pumpkin spice season begin! If you’re still sippin’ on your summer ‘ritas, no shade here, you do you! But, I’m full speed ahead to apple pies, sweater weather and all things fall. This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today sharing a fun (and mildly Halloween inspired) card using the Autumn Breeze Layering plates:
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card was made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using two out of three layers of the Autumn Breeze Layering Plates, I used a piece of garden green cardstock as the bottom layer (in lieu of Layer B). For Layer C I die cut the plate using pumpkin orange cardstock. Layer A was cut from basic black cardstock. You can see my photo below for all three layers:
I adhered all three layers together using a Tombow adhesive tape runner before gluing the three layers down to the card base. I cut a 3″ circle from vellum cardstock, cutting of the right side just a bit before adhering it to the card. Using the Big Thanks Sugar Script dies, I die cut the large shadow sentiment from garden green cardstock and the thinner sentiment from gold glitter cardstock from the 6″ x 6″ Holiday Glitter Pad. I adhered the two layers together with Tombow adhesive before adhering the enticement sentiment strip to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.
On a thin strip of white cardstock I stamped the sentiment “for your friendship” in Memento Tuxedo black ink. This sentiment is from the Lingo Thanks stamp set. I adhered this sentiment strip below the large “thanks” using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.
I hope you have enjoyed this card! Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day.
Hello! Seeka here and I hope you’re having a nice day! Today I have a quick and easy card featuring the Glimmer Butterfly die set.
I started off by cutting the three layers for the butterfly. I used the solid layer from the Butterfly Basics die set to cut light pink cardstock, and then I used Glimmer Butterfly layers A and B to cut white and dark pink cardstock, respectively. I also used a die from the Butterfly Basics die set to cut the butterfly’s body out of light gray cardstock.
I adhered the layers of the butterfly together using glue and glue dots only at the center of the butterfly so that the layers could lift away from each other at the tips of the butterfly’s wings.
Next, I created a quick background by spraying a shimmery blue spray over a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I concentrated the color towards the bottom left corner of the panel. When the panel was dry, I trimmed 3/8″ off both the length and the width of the panel and then stamped a sentiment from the Brush Sentiments stamp set.
To finish, I adhered the butterfly to the background and then used foam tape to adhere the background to an A2-sized card base.
Dee (justcallmedee.com) here, and I am back today with another fall-themed card using some of my favorite dies! This square card features the Linear Triangle and Autumn Breeze Plate dies! Let’s dive right in!
First, I trimmed down a piece of white cardstock down to a 4.25” x 4.25” size. Next, I die cut two of the Linear Triangle’s and adhered one to each corner, covering the entire panel.
For the leaves, I die cut layer B from Autumn Breeze Layer die set and used only the negative pieces (in this case, the leaves) to ink blend! I blended each pink, orange, and green with small ink dangers and then set them aside to dry.
Before assembling the leaves, I first die cut the Big Thanks Sugar Script die and shadow in white, then stacked and adhered them together. I die cut it once more in gold and adhered that over the top.
To begin assembling, I adhered the ‘thanks’ to the center then added the leaves with foam adhesive. Finally, I added gold metallic pearls and mounted the card onto a 4.25” x 4.25” top folding card base.
Hello crafty friends! It’s Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook popping in with a festively, fun fall-themed card for you today. We got a little taste of fall at home this week and I’m so ready for pumpkins and leaves changing and all the things!
I knew that I was using the awesome Autumn Breeze layering set so I started looking at what I wanted my layers to be. Since the bottom layer shows mostly leaves I did some ink smooshing on watercolor paper with a green tombow marker and lots of layering.
Remember, if you heat your paper in bewteen layers, you will get those cool imperfections and lines. If it’s still wet, it just flows together smoothly. Both can be beautiful, it’s all about what you are trying to achieve.
Then for my middle layer, I chose a plaid paper from the Memory Box Madras Plaid paper pad. I love the gold foil lines in this plaid paper. It’s just gorgeous!
Next, I die cut the top layer from kraft cardstock and used a blending brush with brown dye ink to ink up all the pumpkin openings. It just gives it some depth and interest. I really love the effect it had on the whole card.
Last, I pulled out the Pumpkin Lacework stamp set and stamped a sentiment on the same kraft cardstock with brown ink. Now it’s time to assemble everything!
Sometime the watercolor paper can ripple so I heated up my laminator and ran it through a few times. This always helps flatten it out and makes it easier to adhere to other elements.
I used liquid glue to adhere the layers together and to a white card base. Then I plopped a few acrylic blocks on top and left it to dry for a bit.
Once they were dry, I added foam squares to the back of my sentiment and popped it in place on the lower right side. I really love these pumpkins so I chose a space that would cover up the least of those.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and found some inspiration to create something wonderful!
I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
Hello, friends! Dee here and today, I’m sharing a clean and simple fall-themed card that features the Classic Sentimental Wreath stamp and die set combined with the Petal Triangle layer dies. Let’s get started!
To begin, I cut down a piece of ivory cardstock to 4” x 5.24” then stamped and gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Classic Sentimental Wreath stamp set.
Next, I cut the Petal Triangle layer dies (A, B, and C) in the same ivory-colored cardstock, stacked and adhered them together, then mounted them onto the panel with foam adhesive.
For the leaves, I stamped each in three different colors then tucked and adhered them behind the Petal Triangle layers.
To finish, I mounted the completed panel to an A2-sized, top-folding card base!
I hope that you liked this clean and simple design! Thank you so much for stopping by, until next time!
Hi Everyone, It’s Renee’ from Delaney Jane Cards here. I had the opportunity to play with the String Art Circle Collage die and created 3 different cards showing just a couple ways you can use this really fun die.
The first card I created was simply die cut from a piece of deep blue cardstock from the Ocean Blue 6×6 Paper Pad. I ink blended a couple of oxide inks over the top to give the front panel an ombre look.
To further the ombre feel I added fairy jewels to the larger openings in three different shades of blue, using both the pastel and brights Fairy Jewels. And I stamped the simple sentiment Hello in the center of the center circle from the Rainbow Days Lingo Notes Stamp Set. I adhered down that inner rim of the circle and popped the panel up with foam adhesive to create some cool dimension.
Cards two and three were created at the same time but look drastically different. I used the negative cuts from the String Art Circle Collage die to create this card here, featuring the Proud of You sentiment from that same Rainbow Days Lingo Notes stamp and die set. I added foam adhesive to the larger of the shapes, so the outer three rows. The inner two rows were adhered directly to the card front as was the center circle.
This created a super cool textural feel to this very sleek card.
Card three was created from a deep toned rainbow blended panel. I cut two additional panels with the String Art Circle Collage die cut in the same exact position so I could stack them for a bit of dimension. I splattered the background with shimmer spray and some plain water drops.
Happy Saturday everyone! It’s Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook popping in today. I hope your day is starting off splendidly! I have been itching to watercolor this gorgeous rainbow image since it released and I finally made it happen.
To create my card today, I started by pulling my stamps out and playing around with images and sentiments. I found that the rainbow and clouds from Rainbow Days Lingo Notes worked fabulous with the extra large sentiments in the Happy Lingo set!
I stamped and heat embossed the images on Bristol smooth cardstock with clear embossing powder. Then I watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush pen.
I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and moved on to my background. For that I blended distress oxide ink in tumbled glass and mermaid lagoon on a white panel. I spritzed it with water and flicked some pearl watercolor on it.
When I ink blend I tend to use a larger panel so I can choose how to cut it down. After everything was dry, I trimmed it down to A2 size and adhered it to a white card base.
I added foam squares to the back of my rainbow and some clouds and adhered them to the background. Then I added the HUGS sentiment the same way. I adhered the clouds in the background with liquid glue next.
At that point I thought there was something missing so I took a look at the sentiments in the Rainbow Days Lingo Notes and was so excited to see “sending rainbow wishes!” I stamped and heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock and adhered it with a foam strip.
I love adding general purpose cards to my stash and this one will be amazing for a huge variety of occasions, or just because, which is my very favorite to send!
I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
Hello crafty readers! This is Crystal here with you today sharing a colorful card using the Dahlia Heart Layering Dies and some fun rainbow colored paper.
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. For the first 5 1/4″ x 4″ paper, I dry embossed a piece of white cardstock using a basket weave embossing folder. I adhered this embossed paper directly to the card base.
To create the two hearts, I die cut Layer A (the top layer) of the Dahlia Heart Layering Dies from white cardstock. I die cut two of these pieces as I have two hearts. I layered the Dahlia Heart outline over some scrap pieces of rainbow paper and fussy cut around the hearts:
I adhered the two hearts to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment “sending rainbow wishes” in Tuxedo Memento Black ink. This sentiment is from the Rainbow Days Lingo stamp set. I adhered the sentiment to the front of both heart using a Tombow adhesive runner.
I hope you have enjoyed this cheerful card. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
Hi Everyone, It’s Renee’ from Delaney Jane Cards here with a different take on the eclipse technique. Many times we see it done with words but I thought I could achieve something similar with the beautiful Tranquility Layering Dies and Handwritten Thanks. When I’m feeling stuck I often try to use a favorite technique or product in a new way.
Today that technique was similar to the Eclipse technique but could also qualify as Inlay. These layering dies, they create so much opportunity for experimenting and stretching not only your supplies but skills as well!
For this card I ink blended an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock using the Kitch Flamingo and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Colors. Then I trimmed this into two separate panels.
I die cut the Handwritten Thanks die from the panel where I wanted it to be on the finished card.
I removed the die cut and placed the tranquility Layer A from the same piece of cardstock where the final piece will be on that card panel.
This cut the place holder for the finished layered tranquility layered die set. I die cut each of the layers from both black and a coordinating cardstock. Layer C from yellow and Layer B from Pink.
I die cut the shadow layer from the Handwritten Thanks from black cardstock when I did all my die cutting. After I had all my layers, I adhered each layer to a coordinating black piece of cardstock. This will create additional drama in the final die cut design. These layers will not only add additional depth but by using black it will add a visual outline for each layer as it is viewed from the side.
By cutting the top layer, Layer A, from that initial panel, this creates the basic eclipse pattern. If I had simply stacked black die cuts under the top layer and then put it back exactly where I die cut it from, I’d have created an eclipse design. By putting the entire stack of die cuts in this layer die set together, I also achieve the inlay die cut technique, the eclipse technique and I create additional depth in the design.
I finished this card off by layering that thanks onto the edge of the tranquility medallion and added sparkle and shine with the fairy jewels in clear by Open Studio.
I’d love to know what you think of my design and of this super fun attempt at adding a twist to the eclipse technique. Please let me know in the comments.
