    I hope you’re enjoying your summer and that your surrounded by beautiful blooms. Maybe you’re experiencing a little rain like we are here in the Midwest? That’s ok.. that means it’s time to turn to your crafting and make some pretty florals of your own!

    I’m smitten with the new Birch Press Design Large Cosmos bloom! I think it looks amazing in just about every color I’ve seen it in. I cut mine from four shades of red cardstock to add some dimension.

    I added a few Curved Leaf Branches for a bit of foliage. I cut the branch three times from three shades of green cardstock and then alternated them so I wound up with three completed branches.

    Some Mixed Berries in turquoise add another layer of interest to the design, and a hot foil Thank You Noted Script Sentiment is the finishing touch!

    I used the “C” layer of the Flora set for a lacy looking background that is subtle and detailed at the same time. I love that it doesn’t distract from the beautiful floral! I hope you have a great day!

    Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day! Today I’m sharing a slimline card made with beautiful Birch Press Design Florals!

    Flowers are my favorite and when they’re bright and bold I just can’t resist – like a little bee and think to myself… MORE PLEASE!!!

    To get more from my panel dies I like to think of different uses for them. One example would be adding a texture pattern to another die cut – perhaps some alphabet letters. Just because the die is made for an A2 card doesn’t mean that you have to stick with that size. I trimmed the Pinpoint Contour Plate die cut panel to 3 1/2″ and layered it over a 3 5/8 X 6 1/2″ aqua panel to make a longer slimline card.

    I added the gold foil sentiment to the center of the card with adhesive foam tape so it’s raised. Next I tucked in various shades of green foliage adhered flat to the card. The florals are all adhered with adhesive foam tape. I used berries as accents to coordinate with the blue background panel.

    These gorgeous florals look amazing cut from any of your favorite shades – I made a whole bunch so all I have to do is arrange them and add a sentiment. They’re a great addition to your stash!

    Thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing holiday card that is loaded with lots sparkle and shine because it’s almost entirely coated with GLITTER! But not the messy kind! This card was made with WOW! Embossing powder with glitter!

    I feel fairly accomplished at ink blending so I thought I’d give some glitter blending a try! I selected glittery embossing powders from WOW! Just their names sound delicous! Mai Tai, Strawbery Daiquiri and Punch!

    I used an ink blending brush to apply embossing ink to a white panel of cardstock to help avoid straight harsh lines. I applied one color at a time. This gave me the ability to keep it clean by holding opposite ends as the heat melted the powder, and to do some overlapping if necessary.

    My paper was quite curly after heating the powder. No worries because when I cut the Flicker Frames they came out nice and flat. I reserved the space in the center to cut a background for the ornament I placed inside the window.

    I alternated glitter and white cardstock to help define the ornament. It’s gorgeous! I hadn’t realized that the ornament I used was no longer available.. but there are several others in stock that will fit in the frame perfectly like the Flicker, Meridian, Twinkle, Belle, and Marisol – and they’re all on SALE! The Flicker Frame set is more than 50% off at $30! (regular price $79) .

    I love the non traditionally colors and swoon! All that sparkle! A simple “merry christmas” sentiment is the finishing touch!

    I’m smitten with flowers so I adore the last floral release from Birch Press Design. The flowers are generally all three layer and look great in any color combination. Each layer has embossed lines to help guide you in assembling them.

    To get started I always cut and arrange several flowers in different shades so that later when I decide to make I have lots of assembled flowers to choose from.

    I like to assemble the images on a piece of plastic the size of my card front. The clear plastic makes it easy to pick up the entire arrangement and layer it over different backgrounds to help me decide which one I like best.

    Because I cut the flowers ahead of time, before I make my cards, I find that I choose colors I might not have originally selected. Just as an example.. I wouldn’t normally think the plum colored berries would compliment the red roses, but they do, and I think they’re perfect!

    If you look close you’ll notice I changed one of the Fuddled Leaf branches in the background. The color was too similar to the lime Flora cover plate so I selected a different shade for more contrast.

    I hope you’re having a great weekend doing something that you love. If I get my way I’ll be in the garden seeing what’s new to discover. Maybe some new blooms or perhaps the beginnings of some summer veggies! I love when my hobbies overlap and these gorgeous blooms made from paper are just as beautiful as the real thing.

    The florals are easy to assemble. This is a three layer die so I chose three shades of pink cardstock. To save time I cut all of the layers from each of the three shades. I mixed up the shades when I assembled them to create each bloom. I don’t think you need to always have blooms dark to light or vice versa.

    To add some sparkle I cut the Honeycomb Bevel Layer set from white and gold glitter cardstock. To compliment the flowers I layered the assembled honeycomb panel over shades of pink cardstock.

    The Hello Sugar Script foil die adds even more gold elegance to this floral card. The sentiment die includes an outline die cut so there’s lots of possibilities.

    I hope you’ll enjoy creating with the layered florals in the shop – they’re total eye candy!

    I hope your summer is off to a good start! I’m loving all the color I see everywhere as bold blooms capture all my attention!

    Living in the Midwest, Summer is usually decked out in shades of red, white and blue – American Flags line Main Street, and are the inspiration for the color scheme of this card. I started with the Winsome Rose in shades of red.

    I cut the leaves from shades of blue and tucked in some Eucalyptus berries. To fill out the background some Tiny Tuft Flowers in red. The foliage is adhered flat to the card base and all the florals are lifted with adhesive foam tape.

    I didn’t want the background to compete with the florals so I added Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to a Pinpoint Radial Plate. I splattered it with water, and some watered down Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch.

    A simple Handwritten Hello sentiment cut from gold keeps the focus on the florals.
    I hope this inspires you to experiment with your color schemes. I wasn’t sure how well the blue foliage would work, but I’m really delighted with the unexpected color.

    Hi and thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing a colorful card that just screams SUMMER. Living in the Midwest the only time I see beautiful hibiscus in shades of red, pink and apricot is when they arrive at the garden center this time of year.

    These pretties were really easy to assemble. The flower base is just three layers and an embossed line shows you exactly where to place each die cut piece.

    To save time on future projects I cut all the flower layers from each of the shades of cardstock and alternated the layers when I assembled them. So some have the darkest color shade on the bottom, while others have the lightest color shade on bottom. No matter what order you arrange the colors the flowers look beautiful and I have lots of flowers for other projects.

    Did you notice the pretty foil background? It was made using the new String Art Foil die along with the Glimmer Hot Foil Machine and a Matt Gold Foil. Foil dies are also fantastic for embossing backgrounds.

    Making with these florals was a sweet escape to a tropical paradise! I hope you find some time to make too!

    I hope you’re having a good day! I love flowers! When it’s too cold outside to enjoy the garden, I’m happy to be making with them in my craft rooms so the new release makes me HAPPY!

    I like to cut lots of flowers in several different shades of cardstock all at the same time. When it comes time to making I have my choice of flowers to arrange. I lay them out on a clear piece of plastic the size of my card front before I commit and adhere them in place.

    Because the plastic is clear I can pick up the entire arrangement and layer it over different backgrounds. For this card I used Viola Plate Layer A. Using just one layer of the three layer background set allows more color and gives a lacy look to the background.

    To create a focal point I added an Arista Layer B die cut with a darker shade of pink adhered underneath. The foliage is adhered flat to the card base, and the florals are adhered with adhesive foam tape. This adds dimension.

    Remember when you’re making that there’s no right or wrong.. it’s all about what appeals to you. I hope you’ll mix and match your different sets and imagine your flowers in unexpected colors. I think you’ll be delighted with the results!

    Hi and thanks for stopping by! Today I thought I’d make a floral bouquet to show you how well the new Birch Press Design floral release looks assembled together on one card!

    I’m smitten with these gorgeous florals and think I could make with them all day long. I’ve cut the flowers in lots of different colors so I have my pick of the garden.

    The background of my card is the Viola Layer B from the 3 die set. I love the pierced design and think it looks like lace!

    I arrange the florals on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base to help me figure out the design. I started with the two larger Winsome Roses in the lower corner with two Eucalyptus Stems tucked underneath. Pimpernel leaves are tucked under the roses, and Tiny Tuft and Star Flowers are scattered through the foliage.

    The finishing touch are some dew drops – some Memory Box Fairy Drops! I really love making with these florals.. it’s rainy here and sometimes you have to make your own sunshine!

    Have you noticed it’s a flower garden around here lately? That’s because our latest release is LOADED with gorgeous layered floral die cuts!!!

    Today I’m sharing a monochromatic card in blue and sharing a quick way to cut LOTS of flowers with minimal effort.

    The Winsome Rose is three layers. I selected three layers of ombre blue cardstock. Choose a light, medium and dark of any color you like. If you can’t decide, cut a whole bunch like I did! Cut all three dies in each of the three colors and then start stacking. Now you have three different colored beautiful blooms that look great together!

    My background is a distress inked panel in Tumbled Glass topped with a Viola Plate die cut. I like to use a stencil brush to remove little bits of paper left behind on my die cuts. My favorite is from Royal & Langnickel 5/8″ 16 mm Crafter’s Choice (R9113).

    I love that the new florals are easy to mix and match. I used the Dainty Rose leaves with the Winsome Rose on this card.

    The sentiment is from the Happy Lingo stamp set. I wanted something simple that wouldn’t cover up all the beautiful die cuts. The finishing touch is a few Fairy Drops to look like dew.
